That’s where I am. When Dame and Beal shakes out their teams can get fleeced. When a star forces themselves out the team shedding the star never gets value back. They just get the best that’s available to them in a situation where they have no leverage.
Simmons hasn’t been asked to play the role of a scorer in Philly. Joel Embiid may be the worst big time player in the league to pair him with. I really don’t think Simmons can take his game next level but I don’t think that can happen in Philly. That’s what Morey has to sell. Ben Simmons is a great player and the reason why it looks like he underwhelms is because he doesn’t fit with a dominant 5 that needs to work the paint to be dominant.

If Minny is committed to KAT he pairs pretty well with Simmons. KAT has more of a Dirk style game than an Embiid style game. He doesn’t post very often. Additionally, the difference in defense of Simmons vs Edwards is astronomical. Edwards projects to be a volume shooting scorer. If KAT is still their plan I don’t think the Edwards pairing leads anywhere but more draft lotteries.

Agree. As much as I think Simmons pairs well with KAT he probably pairs better with Edwards game and he would get the kid better looks if they push Simmons to play fast and more downhill. Obviously the Sixers wouldn’t have much desire in KAT but they would work it with a three team deal that sends KAT elsewhere.

Ohh no doubt the difference is night and day but it depends what picks Minny gives up too. That would leave them with Towns, Simmons and Culver as their future...if Culver doesn't develop they lose Edwards on his rookie contract and his value. But in the end, isn't Minny going to be in the lottery no matter what lol. For now, it seems like what CLE is destined for unless they can turn it around soon.
