-Countdown is hot garbage anyway. I hope this is the nail in the coffin that finally does it in and they start over from scratch.

-That employee did Nichols dirty. Totally private moment and she didn't even say anything wrong or outlandish. That person was trying to start shit.

-Maria Taylor shouldn't have gotten that gig in the first place. She was on the football beat. It should have gone to someone that's been covering the NBA like Nichols, Cassidy Hubbarth or Doris Burke.

Nichols was incredibly careless to accidentally record that conversation.

Yeah she got done dirty, but when you let something like that get out, there are going to be consequences. The person who publicized it may have been a friend of Taylor’s.

ESPN handled the situation horribly wrong. It is a really bad look to discipline the whistle blower and not the person who made the comment. It paints the picture to their employees that everything the network promotes on the racial equality side is not what they stand for themselves.

I don’t think Nichols should be fired or anything like that, but because they mishandled the situation so badly, they are going to pressured to do more than they would have if they handled it right initially.
