Man, you’re really trying to make fetch happen with this Kevin Love stuff. Maybe sweeten the deal. If Love becomes a Sixer will you buy his jersey?Love can also give them some minutes at 5 when Embiid sits.

Who knows with media but I’ve seen a lot of recent reports linking Cavs and Simmons. Sooooo…reading the tea leaves, maybe that’s what the Markinnen deal was all about. Why would the Bulls want to give up other pieces to sign and trade for Simmons when they already have Lavine and Coby White? So the Sixers may have valued Markinnen to complete some sort of Garland/Sexton Okoro situation and that’s why every one was scratching their head like why Markk right after you draft Mobley and resign Allen to big money? I think the Markk signing may increase the likelihood that whether it’s the Sixers that desire Markk or the potential third team values Markk. Come to think of it, if the Sixers are looking for McCollum, Markk as a stretch 4 fits pretty well there for Dame and has different game to compliment Nurkic. Fuck…my head hurts now.wonder if that is something they'd run by Markkenin before getting him to agree to a deal. If the guy was totally opposed to going to Philly and you dealt him there I cannot imagine that sits well with the agent (or even other players).
hard to imagine, though, he'd be willing to come here and hate the idea of being in Philly.
My bad. I’m critical of that stuff too and here I am being a hypocrite taking us down a Cav worm hole. Don’t blame these guys though. It wasn’t their fault this time. Cavs were involved in a story line during a dead period and fueled it with like a dozen posts. We should really talk about the Cavs sometime…
Yeah but usually when that sort of stuff happens then Simmons get traded to the Orlando Magic lolMy bad. I’m critical of that stuff too and here I am being a hypocrite taking us down a Cav worm hole. That may actually be a great spot for him haha. He can go and be the king in a small media market without a lot of pressure. Wouldn’t it be funny if Fultz came back to the Sixers haha. Wait a second…that’s my team and that’s not funny anymore.Yeah but usually when that sort of stuff happens then Simmons get traded to the Orlando Magic lol
I happen to agree his issues might be overblown as the guy has played a solid 250-300 games which might matter more than a 4-6 game funk...even though funk happened in the biggest games. If you look closely, outside of his series with Miami in his first playoffs (largely played without Embiid due to injury), Ben Simmons was the same guy in this playoffs that he has been in the playoffs in his career. It’s fair to say that Simmons may not be a playoff player when less transition is available and the game becomes more half court. But this idea that he is in a funk I think is overblown. The kid got targeted with hack a Ben and he didn’t handle it well. That took place over the course of like 3 weeks in the kids life. No one has seen him adjust to that yet. I think Simmons has little risk for the Cavs. He immediately makes them a better defensive team. He’s a guy who doesn’t need shots and instead assisted on more 3s than anyone else in the league. He makes other pieces better. What people are going to find is that Ben Simmons was matched through the stars of the NBA draft with likely the worst player he could be paired with. He needs a 5 that will play away from the rim like a Lopez or a Mobley. When the lane isn’t clogged he can get to the rim at will and finish or dish. Now…add in the skill set he still possesses at 25 years old plus the international embarrassment of the playoffs that it takes to drive a diva that has been told he’s the greatest all his life coupled with a team quitting on him publicly in the post game (Embiid Rivers) and I’ll roll the dice on this guy with new scenery becoming the best player on the Cavs roster and a top 15 player in the league and maybe the league’s best two way player. I think there’s a ton of reward potential here with minimal risk if he continues to be the same player he’s been.
noDid he get traded?
I think it's still possible the guy can be of value to a team....I'm confident the LA teams would fall over themselves to get him on the buyout market if he got there. No doubt does not seem like the best fit for Philly unless they want him to spell Embiid for the time he's out....but seems he might be a better fit to play WITH Embiid if he can ever stay healthy.Because of the salaries matching for Simmons and Love it makes Love a huge aspect of the deal. Sixers aren’t moving this asset so they can free up cap with a buy out of Love. That’s literally the only potential value Love would present to the roster as constructed. Additionally, it seems odd for the Sixers to choose Love and deal Harris when Harris is the much better player. But Morey and the Sixers know Harris value around the league better than I do. Maybe it’s Harris salary plus Thybulle Maxey , a ton of firsts and not Simmons that could be the pathway to a bigger piece like Dame or Beal. But Love is a straight deal breaker in my eyes if I’m Morey. He’s bad on like 3 or 4 levels for the Sixers. It’s pretty rough when you assess a guy’s fit and the best you can come up with is a buy out to free cap space for a team that would still be close to capped out anyway post/buy out. I’ll put it on the interwebs now. If Morey uses the Simmons asset to bring back Kevin Love, law enforcement will know that I’m the guy who broke into Morey’s home and keyed all their cars and fed all his pets Ex-Lax
No doubt about that, my friend. The big deals made are often the ones we don't see coming.Yeah but usually when that sort of stuff happens then Simmons get traded to the Orlando Magic lol
Couldn't even tell you the last time I bought a jersey worn by another guy.Man, you’re really trying to make fetch happen with this Kevin Love stuff. Maybe sweeten the deal. If Love becomes a Sixer will you buy his jersey?
It's more a Simmons discussion. I guess we could talk about teams she'd prefer to discuss who have not been linked to simmons and/or have almost no chance nor desire/need to acquire him.My bad. I’m critical of that stuff too and here I am being a hypocrite taking us down a Cav worm hole. Don’t blame these guys though. It wasn’t their fault this time. Not that he'd have a lot of choice but would he go there willingly?I was listening to Bill Simmons and he seems to think that, barring Dame or Beal forcing their way out, that Simmons will wind up in SacTown.
IMO, there is a lot of logic to that move for both sides. The Kings have assets that the Sixers would find useful and at some point the Kings have to make a move of some sort or be perpetually in the mid to late lottery hoping to sneak in as an 8 seed.
Halliburton and Hield for Simmons makes a lot of sense for both teams.
WNBA fan?Couldn't even tell you the last time I bought a jersey worn by another guy.

I don't think he has much choice but he could make things difficult if he wanted. Hell, before the stories came out that he'd allegedly come here because he's buds with Garland I'd have said the same about a deal here. What choice would he have? He has 4 years left on his contract and none of the contenders are going to have any interest in engaging in the cap gymnastics to get him.
What Ben ultimately needs is a team that will build around him to maximize his talents. And to learn how to shoot free throws.
