Players do not step on the court trying to lose.

They do when management says they have to.

When a team has no chance to make the playoffs, their only way to recuperate those financial losses is to get a high draft pick, especially if its a high profile player.

It's the easiest thing in the world for the players. They still get paid and there's no consequences for sucking.

played 3 guys 20-22 then added another 23-year old to the starting lineup. Yeah...they kind of have.

The 6ers traded away there best player multiple times while the Cavs extended Kevin Love and added vets like Andre Drummond.

No they haven’t.

OK...and it's possible management might sit a better player or hold out a guy longer who is hurt. But the guys on the court are trying. There actually would be consequences for sucking as likely some of these guys don't have longterm deals and other teams will see their performance and lose interest or be less interested. Comical you think otherwise.

What's comical is that you don't think it actually happens in the NBA when even on this board multiple people are telling you that it does.

The records are irrelevant.

The 6ers blatantly tanked so badly that the league intervened and replaced their GM.

Have the Cavs done anything like that?

No.

They have just sucked.
the results of where they finished were the same. The actual of how they got there is totally irrelevant. Either you dont grasp that fact or fail to acknowledge it. Your whole argument was just systematically blown to shreds.

What else do you think "tanking" means. Are you seriously trying to deny that tanking exists?
I know what tanking is and it exists. But it doesn't mean the actual players on the court are not trying. Teams might put bad players on the court...but they are trying. Not sure if funny or sad you cannot grasp this. we'll see if anyone backs you on this since you think many do.

Teams don't trade multiple players and draft picks for a guy earning $20m+ when they plan to tank.
sure they do...he had 1 year left and a lottery ticket coming out of the tank. He also got benched for a 22-year old.

You seriously think players on tanking teams are trying?

I know you're trying to defend your Cavs, but you're walking into Wiggy territory here.

So then…

Are you actually agreeing with DT that the Cavs rebuild is similar to what the 6ers did?

You can’t believe that.

The only similarity is the record.

There's a difference between playing to win and playing to lose. That should be blatantly obvious.

Cavs have gone into every game playing to win. They just sucked, and will continue to do so for quite a while.
I'm not sure that really makes sense. So you knew the Sixers were game planning to lose? Woj Jr. over here. They just sucked and it worked out for them. The Cavs suck and it is working ok for them, wishing they got better luck like the 76ers with betters drafts and draft spots but it is what it is.

That 76ers team was that awful, you can plan to lose all you want but players are competitiors. That also means your coach is that bad and he shouldn't be coaching church league

Yes.

Players on tanking teams are trying for sure.

Their livelihood is at stake.

you're seriously thinking guys who are trying to make it in the league (which tanking teams often have) are not trying?

We'll see if you get any support here. Hasn't been long but to steal from Harold Ramos in stripes so far........"that's none".
