You are trying to rip the Cavs and their approach. Sooner you come to grips with that the better.I have never once done that
And I have not once said that the Cavs have failed either.
But keeping putting words in my mouth. That is what you do best.
Totally agree and kind of what the Cavs did. But they finished bottom 2 and picked 5th instead of 1st or 3rd.....until this draft.
Really, the way they have played Mobley should be their 2nd or even 3rd Mobley but the lottery combos didn't give us 1,1 and 3.

The rebuild that most closely replicates The Process is what Presti is doing in OKC right now.I am not though.
I am saying that Philly was brilliant.
You said Cleveland was like Philly.
They are not like Philly.
Cleveland’s plan is a very standard rebuild.
That does not mean it can’t work. Just doesn’t deserve the same praise.
How many times do I have to say I am not ripping Cleveland?

He can rattle on for days.....This was your post that started this discussion.
I was talking about Philly and praising their rebuild strategy.
You replied with this. Trying to compare Cleveland to Philly and you think the only difference is lotto luck.
Now 6 pages later….
I agree.
The biggest difference is in the manner of the rebuild. The Process and OKC now are asset focused, trying to take current assets at their peak value and trading them for future assets that can be employed for a higher value, later in the rebuild. Cavs plan doesn’t put the same value on maximizing assets. That can be seen in the Love signing plus the fact that he hasn’t been traded. Both Presti and Hinkie would have dealt him long ago in the same situation. The Cavs plan is to just lose games and then take the high pick and lean heavily on their own scouting department in being able to project players that will evolve into something that creates a winner. No judgment here. But it’s a completely different kind of rebuild.absolutely
they can makes moves to go get guys now with so many future picks
So can you… NOT!He can rattle on for days.....
problem was Garland was awful his rookie year.No.
But after Garland’s rookie year. When Sexton played well and it didn’t look like the 2 guard would be a great long term fit.
That was the time if they wanted to make a 6er like move.
Not saying they should have done that at all, but that is what the 6ers did.
problem was Garland was awful his rookie year.
you cant perpetually suck for like 8 years though and expect to have a franchise.that doesn't mean you give up. Just means you keep recycling guys who aren't those dudes and keep making moves. Or trading a nance for more picks so you can move up if need be.
you gotta be flexibile and nimble to find the DUDES because those guys aren't willingly coming to CLE.
Right! For some reason, a player like Fultz is close to a Garland type trade. So you're saying an awful rookie year doesn't dictate future value or potential?
