Think the bridge was burned either way. Doc threw him under the bus right after the series. Then the front office basically told everyone you can have him.

Not saying Simmons doesn't have any accountability here, which he absolutely does. But it works both ways in this situation.
Simmons better find a good shrink or this could escalate on him very quickly

No one values Green anywhere close to what the Warriors do I don’t think

No, I think think teams value him correctly as probably a key piece on your team that could help you win a championship. The problem is, is that Draymond is likely going to be the 4th best player on your team in that scenario these days. But he's paid 25M a year, so the flexibility for many of these teams to add him is limited.

It is what it is. Draymond the player has an extreme amount of value. The contract does offset that value though.

Sports psychiatry is a real thing. Good players have fallen victim to their own mental states.

Andris Biedrins was honestly a very promising big for the Warriors. Then he couldn't hit a freethrow to save his life. Nelly laid into him. He lost his confidence. Didn't even want to touch the ball, which was crazy because he had some of the best hands I've ever seen from a big and a great ability to finish.

Then he was out of the league shortly after.

My three team trade idea:

Warriors trades: Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, Kelly Oubre (S&T 3yrs 45M), 2022 1st Rd Pick
Receives: Ben Simmons and Derrick Jones Jr.

Portland trades: CJ McCollum, Derrick Jones Jr.
Receives: Draymond Green and Kelly Oubre

76ers trade: Ben Simmons
Receives: CJ McCollum, Jonathan Kuminga, 2022 1st Rd Pick.
Personally, I’m out. Sixers are in the same place. McCollum doesn’t take them to the next level. Kuminga is redundant to Harris. Embiid’s window is now. If Dame and Beal don’t happen then and only then would I consider a deal like this.

They want more of course, but market and situation dictates the return. It's reported that Simmons has cut off all communication with the 76ers. That's more of a pressing issue for them wanting to move him.
Why?

I mean, we won the trade when we won the title last year. Mission accomplished. Everything else is just extra
Exactly...well, at the very least once you won the title you could not lose the trade.

Right, our initial deal works better for everyone (Sixers get Beal, Ws get Simmons, Wizards get all the young picks and Wiseman and Maxey) IMO

I don't think breaking up the core makes sense but what do I know
Yeah I don't see Draymond going anywhere, even when his contract ends in 2024. I think he will accept less and stay with them but you never know.

By then it's possible the Ws are ready to break it up though, we'll see

Yeah I feel like when it does happen it's going to be like everyone parts ways and Steph stays and finishes his career in GS. If Klay starts to deteriorate could happen sooner rather than later but I think he will be fine.

He will be, but in 3 years when contracts are up they have decisions to make

He’s not even taking Embiid’s phone calls haha. I can’t wait to see the first Embiid game v Ben. He’s gonna clown him.
