yeah...a 100 pct lewis is one of the best Cf...in the game...as shown.in dodgers video...getting him back..is best.....ever....thanking heaven....
and rehab..specials..and hard work...cuz..it always takes..that...............

but..it is another...eval..and stats...year in the outfield.....for kelenic, fraley ,and trammell...its ok..its the healthy..thing..for the club..to do...

yes sir..its a sign...of a healthy...franchise..........
I dont think any of those guys is a viable CF option. I guess I havent studied Trammell on defense enough, but we know he cant hit at the majors yet. Kelenic and Fraley are better in the corner spots.

I think with Gilbert he was always going to need an offseason to work on things. He definitely had an up and down rookie year and needs focus on fastball command and trust in his secondary stuff. But there was definitely glimpses that showed I think he can possibly be a top of the rotation guy. Maybe not an Ace but close. I think being able to just overpower everyone in the minors, meant he didnt have to work on fine tuning. His ceiling is definitely higher then Marcos but i don't think its as high as a couple guys behind him (Kirby, Hancock)
I agree.

I do think that Gilbert performing as well as he did without really getting the normal seasoning/development in the minors really does show how much promise he has. I think the thing that would really help push him over the top is working on developing his curveball and/or changeup. His fastball/slider combo is great but he threw either a fastball or slider on 85% of his pitches in 2021. If he can work a third and/or fourth reliable pitch in there I think that would really help.

Similar to Gilbert, I think just surviving year one and getting to the offseason so he could make adjustments is key.

However with what he showed during September in games that were meaningful. Even a couple big moments (Game tying HR off Ohtani, Go ahead double of Montas) against some good pitching shows that he can be calm and perform in those moments.

Was he a little to emotional at times,? Yes probably, but I will take that over a prospect like Ackley who just constantly looked defeated and showed no emotion.

My question is where does he play? I dont think he's a CF but I also don't trust Lewis' knee there either so I am not sure what the solution is
Once again I agree here.

Everything I've read about Kelenic indicates the dude has an absolutely absurd work ethic and you know that he's been working his ass off this entire offseason.

Kelenic will likely be the centerfielder in 2022 for better or worse, and he did struggle there in 2021. To my knowledge he hadn't played centerfield before, so there's a possibility he could grow into the role and he has the athleticism to play there but I think he's better suited at right or left.

If they don’t get Bryant then France can move to 3B or DH. He became a damn good 1B so maybe he can do that at his natural position. I know they want DH open for Lewis and Haniger but are you a serious contender when you admit two guys you will have to count on will get injured if you put them in the field. Preferably with the trade I was kicking around had Lewis too. Olson fits in term of he is a great defensive 1B and has the power they lost with Seager.
I'd rather not go into 2022 with either France or Toro at third, and that's probably why I want Bryant so badly. I don't think France would be adequate defensively there and I don't think Toro's bat justifies playing third.

I wouldn't mind moving Lewis simply because of the injury issues and the fact that you mentioned he kind of clogs up DH. The only issue with that is we'd be selling low on him right now IMO. Also with our luck, he goes to the Athletics and never goes on the IL again.

This is from pitcher list .

Kris Bryant (3B/OF, Free Agent) – ADP: 92

2021 Stats:
.265 AVG, 25 HR, 86 R, 73 RBI, 10 SB in 586 PA

It’s not so easy to definitely call Kris Bryant a bust since we don’t even know where he’ll end up. But we do know that he benefited from playing in Wrigley, and he started to come back to earth after the trade to the Giants in Oracle Park. Although he did hit .262, he was somewhat lucky with an xBA of just .242 and xwOBA of .326 with the Giants. So much for a boost from a stronger supporting cast. Using Baseball Savant’s xHR leaderboard, Bryant tallied just 20 xHR, and his 6.0 HR-xHR was the third-worst in the MLB. Perhaps it’s no surprise that 3 of the top ten leaders in HR-xHR were righty batters on the Cubs (Happ and Wisdom being the other two). Although we don’t know where Bryant is going to land, he’ll likely be hard-pressed to repeat his 2021 numbers if he re-ups with the Giants, and there are a limited number of landing spots that will boost his somewhat overrated power. I’d expect a .255 22-7 campaign if he can maintain his health, but that kind of production isn’t worthy of a Top 100 draft pick. Almost every draft room will have a Kris Bryant believer, but you don’t want to be that guy.

I don’t want Toro as a starter for 2022. If they can get an Olson then it isn’t ideal but moving him to 3B isn’t a bad move. They need a 3B for sure and if Bryant isn’t there I am just saying I don’t think we should rule out moving France if we can upgrade at 1B if possible isn’t a bad option. Ideally he is your DH but then you have to get a 1B and 3B in FA or trade and have to deal Lewis and that IMO is a lot to ask for from this front office and the M’s not getting hosed.

Yea I'd probably lean towards this deal. I'd prefer to keep Hancock over Kirby but I guess that's just kinda nitpicking. Obviously this under the assumption Correa signs so you wont miss Marte or Crawford as much. Seems like Marte is more then likely moving to 3rd eventually anyway

I was the same until a couple months back. Since then Have heard a lot of writers say Kirby is so much better than Hancock. Have not seen either pitch so I will have to believe those who have.

Good article on the Prospect Arms:

Signing Correa would help this just about as much as the Cano signing . A few good years .Then a plunge into what to give up to have someone take him off your hands .

He is 27 for all next season while Cano was 31 when he joined us. I don't see them being the same and I am not a Correa fan.
