#14th prosoect for 2022.....MLB.....my tidbits

14. Cardinals: JR Ritchie, RHP, Bainbridge Island HS (Wash.)
The top player in the Pacific Northwest, Ritchie is a 6-foot-2 projectable right-hander committed to UCLA. He has a loose, whipping arm action that fires fastballs up to 95 mph with good life to go along with a solid breaking ball and feel for a changeup.

sign him up..................yep

yeah............mariners need...starting pitching.......and ......SS,,,...most....a couple more RF/1B..types would be great to add to Spencer Packard 44,,
maybe a CF/ RF type

by drafting SSs...you could get a 3rd base ,2B or ss..or utility......you never know...but they usually have a good idea...1B and 3B..they would like guys who can play both......versatility........

.
10. Nationals: Carter Young, SS, Vanderbilt
Young, a standout on USA Baseball’s 18U National Team in 2019, had a strong freshman year during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, but struggled at the plate in his first full season with Vanderbilt. He tried to do too much, so while he did homer 16 times, he also had a 30 percent strikeout rate.

tri citys..carter young of vanderbuilt......

9. Tigers: Brooks Lee, SS, Cal Poly
A solid high school prospect in California in 2019, Lee went to play for his father at Cal Poly and is coming off a very strong 2021 season in which he posted a slash line of .342/.384/.626. He is continuing to rake so far on the Cape. A switch-hitter with elite hand-eye coordination, he’s still growing into his power. A steady infielder who is reliable at shortstop with good hands and strong arm, Lee might eventually profile better at second at the big league level.

he is most awesome..ss so far..to bad the mariners may not have a shot at him

16: Reds: Hunter Barco, LHP, Florida
One of the top high school arms in the 2019 class, Barco has been in the Gators' rotation since he got to school. He relies heavily on his fastball and slider, though he does have a potential four-pitch mix, all coming from a 6-foot-4 frame.

stilll high on my list from last year...

OUTFIELD 6'4" 206 LBS L/R..i really dont want the mariners to miss him........but it is always...you never know.....

The Mariners are going to have to give up a haul that will hurt. It is not going to be a light trade where the Mariners give up prospects that fans don’t love. They will have to send multiple top 10 prospects to Cleveland. There is immense surplus value since Ramirez is not only under contract for 2 years, but he is incredibly cheap and is a perennial MVP candidate.

yeah i dont think jerry will do this...i really think toro..is the guy`..
if they want a haul...they should look else where.......

sense pax is out..till all tar break..i now ave high interest...in Nick Margevicius 52

Would you do any of these 3 deals for Ramirez?

Not sure on this one.

sonny gray is good........but not the top choice........i would say.......and with pax ..out till all star break........and.....they need a left hander....and an ace now..
so i would try to take the top choices 1st......the money..will be more than some other teams....can....bring.for Marcus Semien 10..and an ace...
beyond that....idk...........but the players....have the choice...in the end...........

The Seattle Mariners had very inconsistent starting pitching performances in 2021. Marco Gonzales struggled badly out of the gate and got hurt, but returned to form in the second half. James Paxton didn’t finish one start before getting hurt. Logan Gilbert came up in May, struggled a bit at first, but finished with several great starts. Justus Sheffield and Justin Dunn did not perform at all and got hurt.

yeah...and they still..won 90 games.......so why..sonny gray....and not a real ace.......

Yusei Kikuchi had a great first half and made the All-Star team, but had a miserable second half. Tyler Anderson provided much needed innings down the stretch and was solid as the #5 starter, but faltered late in the season. The only consistent starting pitcher all year was Chris Flexen.

they good......go.......drooooool....sonny

The Mariners need to go out and add another starting pitcher to bolster the rotation, as they had too many bullpen games in the first half of the season, which can’t happen next year.

dunn will be good enough....
and brash.for bull pen....

it is a R..a..pe..thing again...in trades......who the other team...wants..are the mariners best guys......
The Cincinnati Reds get an excellent back end of the bullpen arm in Drew Steckenrider, who they can use in high-leverage situations. They buy low on Taylor trammell.....
yeah...every team wants...steck...call it ...them droooooooooling.......................

Trammell, who was originally with the Reds, and could benefit from being back in Cincinnati. They also get Levi Stoudt, Seattle’s #9 prospect, who made it to AA Arkansas last year and flashed promise.

see here...a R>>>A>>>pe...trade...AGAIN.............STOP IT......

Nick Castellanos is a very consistent right-handed hitting right fielder who was with Detroit but has been in the National League, with the Cubs and the Reds, most recently. He is a steady offensive player who posted a wRC+ of at least 100 (which is league average) since 2016. Outside of a shortened season last year, Nick Castellanos is a strong offensive threat that would fit perfectly into the Mainers lineup.

wrong...they need a 4th or 5th LEFT HANDER.....
although..im ok with...Nick Castellanos....and i am with gRay as welll...............just not for ..ACE

WRONG...again.
the mariners....have.....lewis..is out...till ....who knows when.........that makes fraley a starter....for now..and he and kelenic will be better...next year...
fraley..is the mariners..4th guy..in outfield.........

Mariners Trade Candidate #1: Jake Fraley

Jake Fraley started the year as a walking machine, with eight walks and one HBP through 19 PA. He would hurt his hammy, but pick up where he left off over the next 35 games. During that stretch, Fraley would hit .250/.392/.462, posting the second-highest walk rate in all of baseball.

yeah...exactly...........

I know plenty of Mariners fans who have had high hopes for Shed Long. Shoot, they still do. He fits right in with the Mariners, and even stands out (in a good way) with his glasses in the field.

Unfortunately for Long, he has been plagued by injuries and struggled for a long time.

shed went to tacoma...i have been saying for a long time...try him at ....3B./LF..ok ......a back up to toro..would be good

Second base isn’t the deepest position in baseball, as even the Mariners have proved before grabbing Abraham Toro at the deadline and inserting him there. Long is only going to be 26 this upcoming season, and there are plenty of rebuilding teams out there, and teams with question marks at second base. I fully expect Dipoto to check in with them to see if he can make some sort of upgrade to the team in exchange for Long.

i know what there prob is...they are...BE.....HIND...in thinking........as far behind me...as i am behind...dipoto..

good thing though.....

cuz i was thinking the same thing...about a mouth ago.....but,,,,,,that is why...you start early..........

..Mariners Trade Candidate #3: Justus Sheffield

This is a tough one. Justus Sheffield’s value is definitely lower than anyone involved wants it to be. Shoot, even Sheffield knows he could be producing higher. The guy was a top prospect at one point and was supposed to be a team’s ace at some point in his career.

He definitely has the stuff, and that’s why I think he still has a decent value. In 2020, he threw 55.1 innings, notching a 3.58 ERA with a 3.17 FIP. That’s a lot of talent, albeit in a relatively small sample size.

In 2021, he was plagued by some control issues (4.8 BB/9) and the long ball (1.6 HR/0), which led to a rough ERA, but a better FIP than expected at 5.66. So which Sheffield is the real one?

If he gets back to 2020, that’s a great addition to any squad, even ones who want to make a deep playoff run. However, the pitcher from 2021 is arguably un-rosterable. You see it a lot across baseball, where a player’s value sits somewhere in the middle, and a team will trade them to get something of value back in case that floor is the end answer.

He’s a lefty, which helps, and is still young. I think if Dipoto would be able to find a team that is a few years away with an up-and-coming second baseman or third baseman, he could package Sheffield with a prospect in order to pry them away.

NEXT: Trade Candidate 4: The Ride is over

while..im not saying...i know..anything.............i would say..the mariners...want...minor leaguers...in a trade.....they will get starters...in free agents

ohhh yeah....did i say...they won 90...games
dance fred
