the rockies..are notoriusly..tight...at times......so..good luck..on that..mr..boras..

No, I mean Boras might be leaking Rockies interest to squeeze more out of Philly, for example. It's leverage/smoke screen

You beat me to posting this.

Given the fact that he can't hit lefties to save his life I'm wondering if they're going to platoon him - if so with who? - or if they're just gonna roll with him full time.

I'm guessing Julio, especially since Lewis is unlikely to be ready for Opening Day.

Overall I like the trade as I don't think Dunn or Fraley were going anywhere, and we're only giving up the 7th best prospect in the organization for a guy who hits like an MVP candidate against righties and a guy who at worst could replicate the offensive production Seager had at the plate at third.

If Suarez remembers the "supplements" he was taking from 2016-2019 then this was a home run.

Of course this could also just be posturing and playing games with FAs
Hopefully.

Even after adding Suarez and Tinker I actually think Kris Bryant makes even more sense now and here is why: You can put Suarez at DH, Bryant at third and sub Tinker for Bryant in left when play lefties.

I refuse to give up my hope we sign Bryant...

Would be a good way to get Julio some reps without the pressure of starting full time.

Given how cautious the Mariners are being with Kyle Lewis, I would find it hard to imagine them getting him many reps out in the field.

I think there’s going to be a lot of players rotating through the DH spot this year

its a gut shot.(williamson and dunn)....but like i said..the mariners..can handle it...and move .campbell..up to AA...dunn..was good depth
which...maybe a free agent...LHP..if there are any left....but still margo and shefield
i dont count shef..as rotation depth even though he is.....cuz i like to see how he does out of the pen....and spot start...but bird..is now

on the list..of LHP........as is elias...a bit later in the year......

brash takes ..dunns spot....

I know I already responded to this, but with the hot stove cooking and all the deals in the NFL I'm on like my 7th cup of coffee.

Another thought of mine is that this would be smart for Dipoto to do. If his eyes are still on Bryant - which I hope they are - at least now when he negotiates with Boras, he's not coming from a point of desperation as the lineup would still be pretty good even if we don't land him.

I will say props to Dipoto for not waiting on something to materialize in the free agent market and sitting around with his dick in his hand when there aren't any options available anymore.

So, so far the Mariners have added an Ace, 2 all stars and a guy who has the potential for 40+ dongers. I like it.

Not what you want to hear year after year from your GM. Everybody can try. The good ones do.
I’ll be interested to see what players actually sign for. But like I said earlier it could just be Jerry calling the agents bluffs.

Like it, don't love it. Major questions with Winker and Suarez on offense and Suarez is a swinging gate at 3B. That will be tough to watch after watching Seager for so many years.

Im more or less fine with how the OF is, an actual CF would be nice, but in today’s economy?! The Mariners could and should still be trying to sign Bryant though.
