I kind of disagree in a way, I get the premise of his prime but gone are the days of a player like Haniger getting a contract where a club will just write off the last couple of years. As much as we like Haniger IMO he isn’t worth anything more than a hard 3 year deal if it is big money. I don’t think Julio or Kelenic’s performances really matters because of the DH. Preferably Kyle Lewis can be the DH but if I were Jerry I would be trying to deal him before Haniger.

You know you could be right about Haniger's value on the free agent market, it's hard to say though.

The point I was trying to make about Haniger's future with the Mariners being dependent on the performance of Lewis/Kelenic/Julio, was more from the perspective that Dipoto may not feel like he needs to give Haniger an extension when we can get production out of our young guys without having to pay a lot for it.

Honestly the biggest reason I agree on trying to move Lewis is that he's such a question mark with his knee issues, we don't know if we can rely on him and that's not a fun thing to have to deal with when constructing a roster.

I haven't had time to really research it, but what are the gripes between the MLBPA and the owners?

I know it all comes down to money, but specifically where? I know players want minor leaguers to be compensated better and likely want to stop player service manipulation, but is that it?

im not ok with rules changes....or....incentives...for certin things...and the kumar rocker....rule...

which...depoto...is like...but not totaly.....but..he has a handy cap...in being in the northwest....and travel..takes ...long

but kiermier...could be more expencive..than i want it to be.....but they still would need a 3b...or..a ss/2b would do...not much...after..

before the lock out..i could get...a ..5 round...draft order...now with a new cba...i can only get...the first round.....

they say...that...they will do away...with...pickes..for...free agents....i have to wonder..what that will mean..for seattle..
