Kelenic's power isn't what concerns me as much as his ability to control the zone. After being called back up to the majors, Kelenic struck out 80 times in 70 games and only hit .209/.291/402.kelenic......minors..9 Hrs

Fair enough.I think this is pretty common for a lot of guys that play in Colorado. But I dont think he profiles as a guy that would only succeed at Coors. Last year he was bad all around including Coors. If you take away his 2021, the last 3 years he has had road OPS' of .780, .767 and .792. Those should play just fine.
With Marte, I think just his size alone profiles him more as ultimately a 3rd baseman.
I agree as long as that isn't the only move. Add two hitting fielders and Cruz and one more solid plus SP and I am fine with all of that.Jim Bowden via The Athletic posted "The first move each AL team should make when the lockout ends," and this is what he had to say about the Mariners:
Seattle Mariners
Offseason needs: middle-of-the-order bat, SP, lineup depth
Biggest moves pre-lockout: Signed LHP Robbie Ray; traded for 2B Adam Frazier
First move they should make post-lockout: Sign DH Nelson Cruz to one-year, $12 million deal
The Mariners could use a veteran middle-of-the-order impact bat, so how about a reunion with Nelson Cruz in what could be his final season? Cruz, 41, hit 32 homers, drove in 86 runs and posted a 130 OPS+ and was worth 2.5 WAR last year. His leadership and mentorship would help expedite the development of the Mariners’ good young hitters at the major-league level and in their system.
I know we've discussed this before, the Mariners haven't been connected to Cruz, and he would clog up the DH position but the fan in me would love this move.
The logical part of me could rip the idea of signing Cruz to pieces, but I would really love to see it.
Sign Cruz, Bryant and Story, then they can deal Kyle Lewis and Evan White plus a prospect for another pitcher and hopefully can trade for a catcher.I agree as long as that isn't the only move. Add two hitting fielders and Cruz and one more solid plus SP and I am fine with all of that.
Well I guess that seems fair to the owners? Not exactly smart considering there is going to be a huge chunk of these minor leaguers who will be very vocal at the next CBA negotiations.MLB argues for minor league players to remain unpaid for spring training
