I'm not concerned about him. Dip's activity will be interesting and pretty much tell us what we can expect for 2022. Third base and starters is where my thoughts are going. Off topic.....looks like Boston will take that series and I'm enjoying the Sox and Stros battle it out. :D

seahawksfan234

Honestly I think that Kelenic will look a lot better in 2022 than he did in 2021.

Kelenic hit .248/.331/.524 with 7 HRs, 6 doubles, 20 RBIs, a triple and 3 steals in his last 29 games. That would be 34 doubles, 6 triples, 39 HRs, 17 steals, and 112 RBIs over a 162 game season.

In comparison, Kelenic hit .151/.236/.272 in his first 64 games with 7 doubles, 7 HRs, 23 RBIs, and 3 steals. It would appear he figured something out at the plate the last month of the season.

If none of us is prepared to die for freedom, then all of us will die under tyranny.

agreed....and that is why other teams want him...and...seattle could use him off the bench.....except for....they need a 3B..they need a CF...just in case..
theyneed a #5 pitcherLHP....

yeah..except that stuff.............

To me Frazier isn't good enough to worry about displacing him with better signings. If he becomes replaced on the IF, either use him as a utility or deal him. CF is so important defensively you can't just put a newbie out there and hope to compete.

I don't associate Frazier and JRod in any way. JRod will be up when ready and nobody will keep him down if ready and no need will bring him up if not ready. He is too valuable to mess with.

Time will tell as soon as they quit playing quienes mas macho.
I am just saying that JRod was asked and said he is open to playing CF. He hasn’t played CF since signing with the organization and I don’t think it is smart to have him learn on the fly. Kelenic no matter how people feel about his defense has been a CF for 4 years professionally. And to me lack of range in CF is ok when you have athletic COFers. Griffey was so ungodly good but only played next to sloths who had no range.

I agree with most of that. The only exception was the part that said "And to me lack of range in CF is ok when you have athletic COFers". I don't know of any corner OF's that make up for bad CF's on a playoff caliber team. Plus, that to me leads to guys running into each other. A CF should be in charge, but if CO'ers are being aggressive to make of for lacking CF'ers collisions are in your future.

Just go get Reynolds from Pitt or Kiermaier from Tampa. I think a stud defensive CF for a team that pitches to contact is essential.

if they wont trade....kelenic.....or marte....the chances of a good trade....are not much...cris bryant..could work.at a bear minnimum
.and kelenic in seeagers spot....but its a lot of years....and we would not get any better..than bryant is now......if frazier is not good enough..
i dont know what to say..
yeah...then..fraley on the bench.....getting better..production...yeah i think fraley and kelenic will...

they could prob make some...baby..trades....i dont know..on those..

I think best case scenario for Marte is that he's ready by late next year, so I wouldn't count on that. Marte is an incredible prospect but he still has some issues to iron out as evidenced by the 61 errors he has committed in the 166 games he has played so far. I don't think that'll be a lingering concern, but something to consider.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but Story's home/away splits are pretty substantial, here they are for his career:

Home: 375 games, .303/.369/.603/.972, 95 HRs, 279 RBI, 100 doubles, 21 triples
Away: 370 games, .241/.310/.442/.752, 63 HRs, 171 RBI, 80 doubles, 6 triples

Not like he's a bum away from Coors, I just don't want the Mariners paying him as if he's going to hit as well as he does half his games in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
I think this is pretty common for a lot of guys that play in Colorado. But I dont think he profiles as a guy that would only succeed at Coors. Last year he was bad all around including Coors. If you take away his 2021, the last 3 years he has had road OPS' of .780, .767 and .792. Those should play just fine.
With Marte, I think just his size alone profiles him more as ultimately a 3rd baseman.

agreed...and maybe....that is why...the mariners do no want to go all out....like the mets are.....
marte......infield
de loach.....CF/LF...he is more...an OF..he will play..all
colin davis.....CF
thomas...catcher
milkar perez....3B
james parker..3B

i think these guys..are ..MLB...but..who knows and there coud be more
Kaden Polcovich 5.we will see...it would be great if..he had a break out....and would help a lot.......the sutuation
Patrick Frick 15..same...

where they are shy..is ss...and 2b...and as you said..we do not know....on marte...yet...what we do know...is he is good....but my idea of a 2b..is a ss.
who can hit...Hrs......that is why ...story.......... fits into...my 2b..like a glove....its not that he cant play...ss...its the mariners need a 2B..and a #2 hitter..........which..from my point of view...he would fit...better..than siemien..would have..at #2 hitter...but its all..good...cuz..

i was thinking..conforto..still not a bad idea...but bryant maybe what they need at 3b...and would not have to trade kelenic...out of need..
and does not cost a draft ...pick..that is big...

there is a strike......a pandemic....OMG...it could not be worse...but getting players...that fit for the future.....is the right thing...to do..

frazier...fits...as a top 10...ave hitter(pete rose style....IMO)
i will bet...we see...just how valuable...he is this year...the mariners were 200 hits behind the leaders last year...frazier...will help make up some of that ground...seager...was bit..better than moore...but not tons as far as ave..in the last half..in the first half seager was better

robbie ray...fits...as an ace.(cye young..and strike out)..the mariners have been in need of ...fffooorr years....lol...finnally....lolol...and welcome.

so that is all good...but..signing guys..to..more than 6 years ...does not make sense...and...counter productive....to the team...in most cases..
as much as the players....want it....cuz..they just..want to rack up..the money...while oblivious....to the situation....the team is in...
but i got off track...

mariiners need
3B
LHP
a back up....CF

that is not tons...and maybe they already...have.we do not know.........
