I did read years back that some former SS said it is not as easy as most think. They say that ball gets on you so much faster at 3B. I would still have no problem with them trying it. I still like Chapman though for his defense.Yea I would have to look at the data but I am too lazy to do the work. I just think of guys like Machado but then I think the data might be skewed by guys like Ripken or A-rod who did the move later in their careers when they had lost a step.

I think best case scenario for Marte is that he's ready by late next year, so I wouldn't count on that. Marte is an incredible prospect but he still has some issues to iron out as evidenced by the 61 errors he has committed in the 166 games he has played so far. I don't think that'll be a lingering concern, but something to consider.I just mean Frazier has one year left and resigning I guess depends on the rest of you INF mainly. If you think Marte isnt far away and you are still happy with Crawford and have added Story/Bryant then I dont see where giving Frazier a big multi year deal would make sense.
But yeah I dont see Story signing a 1 year deal but I also think the whole he only hits at Coors thing is a little over blown
My inclusion of Suzuki is mostly predicated on the belief that Lewis will DH most of the time while getting minimal reps in center and that I don't want to bank on JRod holding down one of the corner outfield spots. I do believe JRod will be a superstar, but I'd rather not leave LF open under the assumption that he'll be ready immediately. I know it's two different player comparisons, but we saw the struggles Kelenic went through at the plate his first year.I am totally cool with Bryant or Story (prefer Bryant). issue with your scenario is Suzuki. While he seems to be good, he isn’t proven and reports say he can’t play CF so he doesn’t have a role on the team outside of a 4th OF (I’m including JRod and Lewis) unless they make a few moves. I won’t pretend to know anything about him besides reports but if he is signed he is essentially Trammell/Fraley. IMO he isn’t remotely a guy (from his Japan numbers) they can sign and give a starting position, but on that same note if they sign him he is guaranteed a roster spot unless they somehow work out if he struggles he can play in Tacoma. I am not saying don’t sign him but unless Jerry makes some deals I think the money for him is better used for either a starter or bullpen help.
As much as I've emphasized how much I'd prefer to stay away from Story, that article is a little bit click-baity because when you look at the article, this is mentioned:As soon as I replied I read this:
