come on Trystan :hope::hope::hope:

On a related note, really not hearing anything about Gallimore. Unless we make a roster move we need at least one of them to contribute every week

Sounds like Gifford and Bryant injured enough that they are either cut or moved to IR: I’m a big fan of Gifford and hope he is here one way or another. Bryant seemed to be playing really well and earning a roster spot, but it’s not likely he would contribute enough this year any way so I’m not too worried about what happens with him.

Don’t let anyone try to convince you that ET is old and no good. He still balls

As you may be aware by now, Jerry Jones has occasionally gambled on the merits of a player’s character as it relates to production and hit more than a few dry holes as a result. Doesn’t mean the old wildcatter’s learned his lesson. For Earl Thomas’ sake, not to mention the Cowboys’ secondary, let’s hope not.

Consider recent developments: The Cowboys need a safety now that they’ve paid Ha Ha Clinton-Dix$2.5 million not to play it.

And Earl’s available. Like, for two weeks now.

Not so long ago, this would have been a no-brainer. Say what you want about Earl at 31. No longer the best safety of his generation. That title now belongs to Jamal Adams. Just the same, Earl’s still pretty good. Last season, his first on a new team and in a defense that moved him all over the field, he put up an 86.1 coverage grade. Quarterbacks posted a 24.2 rating when targeting him, the lowest figure of 263 defenders who qualified. Quarterbacks’ completion percentage of 44 percent against him was the second lowest. No, Earl’s no longer No. 1, but Pro Football Focus still rates him the seventh-best safety in the league.
sign Earl. Let woods and Earl be the tandem. This front 7 will create lots of heat on QB. Earl will get lots of interceptions in this defense. We need players that can turn the ball over on the back end. I am also fully on board with Diggs to be thrown into the fire if we got good players at safety. Diggs has the best ball skills of all the corners.

I like Gifford.. the other longshot I like is Francis Bernard

This is shocking to me.trystan college highlight showed he could move very well for a big man... but last season he seemed to be not motivated. granted McCoy getting injured helped him obviously. Maybe he paid close attention to McCoy on how and what it looks like to be professional? I still think gallimore will become a good player.

I'm not sure Bernard is a long shot at this point. I think he dresses on Sundays if he plays STs and may even play on defense when Lee is out. March is just not very good and not sure who else it would be if we need a 4th so hoping Bernard

I think Gallimore will be good too. I was expecting him to make a big contribution year 1 even with McCoy. Now with McCoy out I'm hoping it's true. Just seems odd how little we have heard about him and usually that isn't a great sign, but games and practice are different so we'll see soon.

Clearly I know nothing about this team

I guess I can cling to the STs aspect of my comment as a reason he didn't make the team but this is kind of surprising to me. An obvious PS target at least I hope. I assume we move Lee to IR and bring him back onto the 53, but clearly I'm just pissing into the wind with my predictions at this point :D

Maybe the talk of being released motivated him.

I know the risk of losing Bernard, but if Lee is IR'd I expect him back.

Maybe Lee and Gifford both. Seems like a no brainer to bring him back once one or both go to IR

2020 Dallas Cowboys initial 53-man roster
It should also be mentioned that the Cowboys are going to receiver a special roster designation for the returning Randy Gregory. He is not eligible to play for the Cowboys until Week 7, but between now and then he will not count on the team’s official roster.

Some of these roster spots were very obvious. Some have been a surprise. Here they are.

Quarterback (3)
Running Back (3)
Wide Receiver (6)
Tight End (4)
Offensive Line (10)
Defensive End (6)
Defensive Tackle (4)
Linebacker (5)
Secondary (9)
Specialists (3)

Dinucci huh? Hope he has some ability and is worth keeping because obviously a 3rd QB isn't likely to dress with a good backup now on the team unless an injury strikes and isn't playing unless we have two injuries

So who goes to IR? Lee, Gifford, Bryant and Lewis? That would leave only 3 LBs if it happens. I guess Barnard and also bring in a vet?

I dont get why we needed 4 tight ends. Should have kept bernard on 53 and had that 4th TE on practice squad.

According to multiple sources, the Cowboys will place right tackle La’el Collins and linebacker Sean Leeon injured reserve Sunday. Since they were on the active roster Saturday, they will have to miss only the first three games. Collins has been dealing with a hip issue, while Lee has been dealing with a pelvis strain that dates back to late last season. Look for linebacker Justin March and cornerback C.J. Goodwin to be re-signed on Sunday.

uh oh on Collins
