with the adding of Worley and Dalton and the probable re-instatement of Gregory and/or Aldon Smith even with the release of Covington, White and Rush we are very close to Cap limit so what's next more releases or adjusting some cap hits? Tank? Zack? maybe even Crawford?Surprised it took so long..,
My bad, I was counting the whole 7M on Dalton so we will have a little more than I thoughtwith the adding of Worley and Dalton and the probable re-instatement of Gregory and/or Aldon Smith even with the release of Covington, White and Rush we are very close to Cap limit so what's next more releases or adjusting some cap hits? how long before the Skins signs him to try & get some info from him.Surprised it took so long..,
I'm surprised they waived him before Dak shows up. Not like he was due a roster bonus or anythingCowboys have waived Cooper Rush
Why do you keep saying this? We have like $18M in cap space. The $12M shown on Spotrac plus it looks like Frederick will be a post 6/1 "official" retirement so add $6M more to it because that would spread his dead money over 2 years. Even if he officially retires before 6/1 it's still $12M less what, $5M for all of Dalton, Gregory and Smith? We have plenty of cap space. If we need ot free up room there are a bunch of things we can do. It doesn't look like we are signing anyone else at this point but if we sign a DE we cut Crawford and save $8M. If we don't sign a DE we probably keep Crawford for his last yearwith the adding of Worley and Dalton and the probable re-instatement of Gregory and/or Aldon Smith even with the release of Covington, White and Rush we are very close to Cap limit so what's next more releases or adjusting some cap hits? they were due to pay Rush $2.133M for 2020 so releasing him and signing a more experienced Dalton for only 3M makes some sense and it has little to do with the Dak situation. Dak and the Cowboys will reach a resolution and it has nothing to do with whether Rush or Dalton is the backupI'm surprised they waived him before Dak shows up. Not like he was due a roster bonus or anything
if what you say here all happens then good i want the Cowboys to add one or 2 more piece and still have cap space to add some need during the seasonWhy do you keep saying this? They need $7 million or so to sign the the rookie class. I think they could add another vet or two but it would have to be a bargainif what you say here all happens then good i want the Cowboys to add one or 2 more piece and still have cap space to add some need during the season
the rookie salary cap is already covered so the 12M shown on spotrac only has to cover Dalton and Worley contracts which probably leaves somewhere around 5 to 6M. but it also doesn't include what happens if the Commish lifts the ban on Aldon Smith and Randy Gregory. their cap hits would be 2M and 980K respectively which could reduce our cap space down to around 2 to 3M. that doesn't leave any space to add anyone else during the off-season or space to add someone during the season like JJ likes to do. of course some salary will cut as players are cut but that depends on whoThey need $7 million or so to sign the the rookie class. I knew he would go to an NFC East team.Anyone who didn’t see this coming... why?
It was the natural option.
i agree last season we had Fleming and Su'a-Filo as backups they are both gone. we need to add veteran depth at both the T and GI hear ya.
So, right now it is all on paper cause we ain't on the field.
Where are our weakest links (on paper)?
I think there maybe some shuffling of the O line to some degree with the addition in the draft. Either way, I am just not 100% sold on our O line. Our left side scares me. Tyron is and has been a beast but father time and mother injuries have got a grip on the guy. And then our guard....... is a maybe, maybe not.
I also think that we need help at corner still. If our pass rush gets a tick better, our corners are a tick better. Still not sold on having high end corners but they may be good enough if our pass rush takes away that extra tick.
Which comes to my D line needs and we seem to need another DT. If we rotate guys, I see only 3 I "trust" and that is always with a grain of salt as one of those is a 3rd rook. I see DE as a major plus as I feel that Smith and Greggory both get reinstated and between the two we will at the very least have one good one. Although I love this kid outta Utah, not sure what he is going to bring to the big boy table just yet. Took a couple of years for DLaw to get to where he is today.
That is ok. Certainly not a surprise. Giants offense will be very predictable. Maybe we will see a re-emergence of Garrett's delayed draw and the giants run that play on nearly every running down.Anyone who didn’t see this coming... why?
