Trez can't really play the 5 despite Doc using him there. Actual centers, like Jokic, kicked the shit out of him. Part of the reason he's so poor a defender is he's basically playing out of position.

The problem was that he shouldn't have been playing the 5 with guys like Joker on the floor, but after Zubac, they really didn't have anyone else. With the Lakers, he would only have to play the 5 when the Lakers go small. He and AD could essentially trade off playing the 5 in that situation. Of course, that would hinge on the Lakers having McGee or convincing Marc Gasol that he wants to take less from the Lakers for a chance to have a title with the same franchise as his brother. I read that they may be looking to unload McGee to make room for Bogi.

KCP would be a nice 1 to keep.....but Schroder is an upgrade over Rondo. Morris isn't really necessary since Harrell is better and would be a super sub at PF/C playing 25-28mpg.

Morris is kinda necessary though, or at least a player like him. Harrell is not the same type of player at all. Harrell is good scorer as the roll man off a pnr and he also gets buckets just cleaning up rebounds with his hustle. He's gonna improve the Lakers bench and you should see the benefits all regular season. But he's been a poor defender much of his career. Morris can switch across multiple positions, staying with some bigs and a few wings, even a couple of guards. That kind of ability helped the Lakers out a ton, especially in the playoffs when it was necessary for Davis to play the 5. And Morris can actually shoot the ball beyond 5 feet which makes things easier. Harrell doesn't do those things. When you get into playoffs and teams start attacking certain match ups, Harrell is the type of guy you can play off the floor because of the skills he lacks. If the Lakers don't have another forward (or Center like Gasol), for those scenarios, they could be in trouble.

Not really the point just used it as an example. Either you overpay GH to make a run for an 8 seed or you go for a top 5 pick again. Only reason Love got paid is bc he was part of a championship and kyrie and bron left.
This makes the Hornets the Magic essentially
That's a step up for the Hornets
