Finally got laid, eh? See what you've been missing?

Cavs...man you guys are still so far away from anything meaningful it's kind of sad.
We got a title most of us never thought we'd see so not that sad. Is what it is in this market. Have some extreme lottery luck like they did and can be a title contender. Have a bottom 1-2 finish and pick 5th (or get the 8th pick because Brooklyn has no need to tank like everyone else near bottom) it's much less likely.

Afraid possible best we can hope for might be to be an Indiana type team and be solid for a while without much of a shot at a title.

How many players suddenly "get it" after 7 years in the league? He may get a little better in a better situation, but I wouldn't expect anything close to stardom.

just hope to prop him up like they did Barnes but be smart this time and sell high

Wouldn't that be true of all of the trades that were announced at roughly the same time?
Yep.

That's the thing with tampering in the NBA... everyone kinda does it... but apparently there are "unwritten rules" about acceptable tampering and unacceptable tampering... and furthermore the NBA has kinda/sorta been trying to tighten up recently...

... something like that. Anywho, just passing along what Windhorst was saying... I don't know if there is any validity to it.

I've been saying the Warriors model is Spurs 2.0

Not exactly the same but same goal of competing for a long time like you suggest

that is a really tough needle to thread ans even the Spurs needed the small market pacers to be retarded enough to offer a good first rounder and a second rounder for one year of George Hill

Didn't know the spread was that high..kind of ridiculous considering how good Indiana has looked this year. Ohio St kind of got 2 weeks to prepare for this matchup too. Defense looks rough at times but I hope they cover. Weird season for sure.
I just want them all to live in a bubble until the game so they can play.

I just saw Wiggins is the same age as Caris Levert and he's also younger than Duncan Robinson. Forget he's still only 25. If it takes him another year or two to "figure it out" he'll still only be 27 and entering his prime. Wiggins may never get it, but with the options the Warriors have at this point I have no problem with them rolling the dice on him.

Yeah, it seems like Wiggins has been around for a long time already. I wasn't excited when I saw the news of that trade, but then when I saw that he had just turned 25, that made me think that there's still hope for him to reach his potential.

It was Windhorst, but I saw Windhorst being interviewed this morning and he said that Bogdonavic backing out of this trade may all be a big drama/farce because (technically) the deal being announced when it did blatantly violated the NBA's anti-tampering rules... so in order to avoid any repercussions or blowback on that front, Bogdonavic may be putting on a show now and then have a change-of-heart this weekend when trades are actually allowed to be negotiated and completed.

Thought trades could be discussed starting Monday.

Speculation GS may use that 17 million exception to trade for somebody to help soften the blow of losing Thompson for the season. The exception expires Monday.

No one said stardom. I didn't even mention All-star in my posts.

Wiggins is on his 5th head coach in 7 seasons. Now he's no longer burdened with having to be the #1 pick, he can learn to play good basketball instead of stat basketball. Getting it consists of making the right play. Getting it consists of making a consistent defensive effort. Getting it means avoiding long 2's and poor shot selection.

That's all he needs to do.
all true, but wouldn't other coaches have tried to help him "get it"?

Golden State will now apply for the Disabled Player Exception worth $9.3M. The exception can be used to sign, trade for or claim a player to a one-year contract. The exception expires on April 17.

Just one more loophole the W's have to sign more talent lol

they should get justin Holliday and see if ibaka will come back for the dpe.

no idea what they use the tpe for since they need to attach some kind of pick(s) with it unless a team wants to just give a guy away

Curry, Klay and Wiggins alone add up to almost 100M.

i will guarantee you they do not add significant payroll.

most i can see is they "splurge" on the mini-mid level exception.

i have to say it is a little entertaining seeing the Warriors fans try and talk themselves into the "untapped potential" of Andrew Wiggins.

Yes but I think you would agree that teammates, coaching staff and organization all matter for the development of players. Additionally there are different expectations of what the responsibilities of players too.

Again, I'm not talking about him becoming an all-star. I'm talking about being a good player and not a stat padder. There's a difference. In Minnesota he averaged over 20 ppg a year for his career. But he was/is not considered a good player. He has the potential to become that good player here because what is required of him is less than what was required of him being a former #1 pick who was given a large extension. Now he's just another cog in the wheel. His responsibilities are different. His focus and attention to his game can shift.

The key question is WILL it shift. And that's a more than reasonable take for anyone to think he will not. However there is no better place in the NBA for Wiggins to be able to become the player he was thought to be than with this organization.
