The Boston Celtics are pursuing a trade for Jrue Holiday of the New Orleans Pelicans, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

Boston is attempting to package their three first round picks (14, 26, 30) in exchange for a lottery pick, which they would then send to the Pelicans.

The Celtics would need to also include salaries to make a deal work, which would likely result in either Gordon Hayward or Kemba Walker being traded.

Lakers interested in DeMar DeRozan?

i_bf_11_7a_demar-derozan.png

They’re also looking to unload LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMar DeRozan; I’ve heard the Lakers have interest in acquiring DeRozan (for Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green), and as mentioned, the Warriors may want Aldridge.

They would have to include another salary as well.

This would be interesting. I'm kind of on the fence about it though.

On the one hand, he would be the playmaker that the Lakers need to take some of the burden off Lebron and could very well step into that 3rd star role.

On the other hand, he's a 28% 3 point shooter for his career. So, he doesn't do anything to address that need. I'd have to look, but at that percentage, he might actually be the Lakers worst 3 point shooter.

This is a weird and a huge red flag because at this point you can forget any big name free agent wanting to sign with Houston the public may not know exactly what the problem is but the rest of the players in the league do. CP3 wanted out now Russell Westbrook wants out, Eric Gordon didn't like his diminished role on the team. I don't really blame Houston for committing to Harden seems like they would rather be a team with an overrated star player paying him max money and be relevant than be without him and lose and be irrelevant.

I don't know where they go from here with Westbrook I doubt any team will give up much resources for him because Westbrook cant seem to win or get along with any other star player and it becomes a circus.

I think the problem is pretty obvious.

Harden is a selfish player.

A very talented player, but selfish. The way he completely disengages when he doesn’t have the ball is just terrible.

Yeah House is more doable. Gordon is a better playmaker but I feel House is a better defender (could be wrong there)

Gordon is a pretty solid defender.

More importantly, me matches up well with GS guards. They have always had issues with his physicality on the ball.

As much as Green struggled shooting the ball in the playoffs, he is a better fit than DeRozan.

Lakers can do better

Chris Broussard (yeah, I know) actually had what I thought was a great point on this. He said that D'Antoni's offense basically creates ball dominant monsters.

That's fine when your ball dominant monster is Steve Nash who's more interested in passing that scoring. It's why the Knicks had a decent run when he was coaching there and Melo was out with an injury. Jeremy Lin was running the offense.

But when your ball dominant monster is James Harden and then you add Russell Westbrook who also wants to dominate the ball...it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to work.

I know Harden was already ball dominant before D'Antoni, but he took it to a whole new level with him as coach.

That's part of why was hoping he'd go to NO. His offense, with Lonzo Ball running, could work really well, imo.

Yeah, I'm kind of on the fence about Green being involved in a trade also.

He definitely wasn't "as advertised" in the playoffs. But there's enough history with him that it could be seen as an anomaly. In that case, maybe you don't include him unless you're getting a star level player.

On the other hand, if you don't move him and it wasn't an anomaly.....

Glad I don't have to make that decision. lol

Things are starting to get interesting around the NBA. I expect a higher than normal amount of activity this offseason. Blockbuster trades.

Same for me, I lean no. They do need a playmaker/shot creator but it just doesn't seem like a nice fit. Honestly, would keep Kuz and Green over Derozan but their are better options out there.

Yeah, if we're talking Kuzma or Green, then maybe it's worth exploring. I just looked at Greens stats for last season. He shot 42% from the field, which sucks...but he shot 37% from 3...which is much better than DeRozan.

And that was with Green shooting 3% below his usual 40% from 3.

According to Stephen A., CP3 doesn't want to go to the Lakers. There was a slim possibility they could have traded for him regardless but hearing this it really doesn't make sense now.
No idea why he would would want to deal with all the lebron drama. He is just not going to do that at this point in his career.

CP3 and Bron are friends, not sure about drama? But when you have Lebron, possibly the best player ever on your team...all attention is on you but according to him it isnt about that. He doesnt want to be a ring chaser. He wants to be a 1 or 2 on a championship team it sounds like
