I been thinking long and hard about Clowney and my feelings are starting to change. Sure he is a unique and special talent but he can't do it on his own and even with say a stud with him he is only going to be a 8-10 sack guy at most. If we lost Clowney i wouldn't stress to much, the Hawks need WAY more than just him on defense. Sure they Need pass rush help but i think they could get 2 or 3 guys for the money Clowney would suck up. Might be the better way to go.

I agree with this my whole thing was that he was teamed up with JJ Watt an elite DE and the Texans defense was never really elite so whats the point of giving clowney all that money and really expect him to change the defense as a whole. I would rather put 3-4 veterans on the front 7 like a mix of Leonard Williams, Dante Fowler, Jordan Phillps, or Beau Allen

Once again, the Seahawks are quiet to open FA. If they keep status quo for next season, I may just skip the season. When we pay as much to keep Ifedi as the Browns paid to get Conklin, I'm going to need to get pretty hammered.

I haven’t seen anything on that, but I have seen that Hollister got a 2nd round tender.

If not for russell, this team is a complete dumpster fire. Losing clowney would be a disaster, signing ifedi to anything more than 8m per would also be a disaster.

We are going to resign him and for much more than 8M. George Fant got freaking 10 million a year.

Ifedi is frustrating but he is a starting caliber RT, albeit a low end starting caliber RT. Unless we do something we've basically failed at for the past 10 years and hit pay dirt on a OL draft pick, losing Ifedi means that Russ' life is in even greater danger.

So far our only move today was to tender Hollister. Awesome.

Pretty happy with this signing.

If we bring back Clowney and get some other effective, if not pro bowl caliber, DL players I will be very happy.
Yea if Reed can get back to around 10 sacks this is a steal

There's no doubt in my mind his suspension played a major role in stunting his momentum from the previous season.

This is a steal if he gets back to the Reed from two years ago, and if this allows us to land a solid defender on the edge all the merrier. Considering the way we always start this process it's status quo, but a good day one keeping a position of priority to make it a successful day.

On a side note, once Atlanta cuts Trufant can we please make him a priority please?

they are saying 21 million will be needed for Clowney. Thats to much for someone that is not a double digit sack guy. I love Clowney he is a stud but he is a 3-4 outside linebacker not a 4-3 DE worth 21 million. Hawks could get 2 guys for that money that could put up 8-10 sacks for them.

Who are these 8-10 sack guys that will play for 10 mil a year? Ngakoue will get close to 20 and he only had 8 sacks last year.

Clowny is a playmaker, our defense is almost devoid of them right now. We need to keep him.

Clowney is clearly the best player the Seahawks to spend big money on. The only real concern is his tendency to get injured.

If we resign Clowney, sign someone like Quinn and a 3rd tier lineman and keep Clowney, Jefferson and Woods I'll be pretty happy.

It's not just the sacks... He's crucial in forcing tackles for loss/minimal gains because he creates havoc on his side of the field... If we had someone that could get after the QB on the other side, to take away all the double teams he receives, he'd be even more disruptive...

Glad to see we're bringing back L. Wiilson... He's a good fit in our offense... Solid backup/role player...
