It’s early. There was pretty much no preseason. It’s too early for knee jerk reactions.

Neither did Buffalo. Pierre said it - Buffalo wanted that game more than the flyers.

Where was the energy all night?

I think they got cocky after beating the Pens back to back. Winning both sides of a back to back, by 2+ goals, is a difficult thing to do and they did it against a supposed contender in Pittsburgh.

Last night was hopefully a reality check. Hopefully they bring it tonight and remind everyone that they're one of the best teams in the East.

I hope thats it as we have a problem with playing good against good teams (Pitt) and bad against bad teams (Buff). This has been going on for a while now. Hopefully we win 5-1 tonight and all is back to normal.

This is what is going to suck this season, there is no measuring stick for teams this year beyond their division. I know Awaz stated that a lot of meaningless games are missed but so are important stepping stones. You can't say you wouldn't like to see TB or The Avs or Vegas even some of the good Canadian teams, I know I sound like a whiner but right now I don't think we have a good enough D core and would like to see how it stacks up league wise. Why I think it's important is because it also gives you a broader perspective of whether you need that all important deadline trade. Just my 2 cents.

Huge game by Elliott. They had 40 shots and id say 25 were real tough saves

The difference was 37 hits compared to 24. Thats what happens when you move your feet and play with purpose.
