Yep. We've crossed over now. Results are irrelevant, just hope they restore some sense of ability down the stretch.
What I hope is for Fletcher and AV to get on the same page on what the team needs and sets aside anything other than performance/cost in their analysis.

now is the time to strike to dump any past “fan favorites” or sentimentality as I think the entire fan base is super pissed and doesnt give a rats ass about anything other than making this team ALOT better.

This may be the first time in like forever that the Flyers are playing a full 60 minute game and dominating. Unfortunately the Islanders goalie is playing like Hasek tonight.
Good post we played a full 60 minute game for the first time in a long time. Its a shame we lost that game.

Its really sad how we cant score with an odd man rush.

3 on 2 we over pass and mess it up
2 on 1 we try to make the perfect pass across and screw it up

Giroux 268 total goals

This drives me crazy. Odd man rushes are almost automatic goals against. But the Flyers never finish.

These two examples probably cost us about 80 goals this year and at least 5 wins.

As I've been thinking about this season, I have to ponder how did a whole team of players turn to shit? I mean I can see one or two guys struggling, but a whole team? This sounds more and more of some kind of locker room cancer that spread, and if so I truly hope that the coaching staff finally recognize it and root it out. I'm not finger pointing to any individuals but come on, were not all delusional enough to think there isn't quite a bit of talent on this team to be able to compete game in and game out. IDK maybe I'm just being crazy but I think I may be right on this. The off season will give us a look into that I think.

On a side note, I don't know who the best 2 free agents are going to be, but I'd like to see some aggressiveness to get whatever leading dman that will be available or a trade for an anchor back there.

We have a team full of middle of the road players and a team full of pusses. This is what you get when you are mediocre and four or five guys dont play up to potential.

We need to clear some salary first before we get anyone for next season and the year after we have to pay Couts star money as well as pay Hart. We were all counting on the Kraken taking JVR but i wouldnt take him if i were them and if that happens we are screwed again

It may be the way he has it taped from the top but it looks like Allison uses a really short stick.

At least its the last year we have to pay 1.9 million to MacDonald and .6 to Schlemko. That is money we could put to good use.

I have to say, I'm hoping they take JvR too. But let's be honest here, you wouldn't take JvR if he was the last hockey player on the planet

They have a team full of players with the exact same mental strengths and weaknesses IMO. I think pretty much down to a man, they care too much. Something goes wrong, they get down, they start to play worse, and it spirals out of control. I think G is like that. I think Provorov, Hart, TK, Sanheim, and Myers are like that. I think to an extent Voracek is like that, based on how defensive he can get in interviews. You heard time and time again last year how Niskanen (and Hayes) kept them loose when things got off the rails.

We clamor for accountability a lot, but I think there's a reason AV tries to focus on the positives more often than not. This team is extremely fragile mentally. And this year just broke them.

They need to add winners. Guys that have been through the ups and downs and seen the other side. Guys like Niskanen that can say in the midst of a 5 game losing streak "look guys, we suck right now. But it happens. We can rebound from this". Guys that have won cups bring credibility to that statement. The Flyers organization, from Paul Holmgren on down to Robert Hagg, have no credibility when they try to say that. Nobody believes them, and the self doubt takes over.

This is a major weakness for a professional sports franchise. Every team faces adversity, you have to power through it.

It’s the difference “winners” bring every minute every game. I keep going back to Crosby’s “no stick” goal. If I were AV I would be playing that on a loop in the locker room.
