If Ghost gets claimed, that's 4.5M off the cap.
If he doesn't, that's 1.075M off the cap.

Third option, he clears, and the Flyers work out a deal with someone to retain some of his deal. So, they're looking at adding 1-4.5M in cap space with this Ghost move.

Capfriendly has them at 2.7M in 'real space' right now. Add in the 1-4.5M and he's got 3.7-7.2M available to add. I think. So he can add player(s) with a surplus of 3.7-7.2M beyond whatever salary he sends out. My guess is he isn't looking to send out much salary, more looking to add a player by using picks/prospects. Gotta assume defense.

I think those are the most common names out there attached to the Flyers. With Andersson/Tanev being added solely by me, I haven't heard them from anyone else. Also worth noting that Nashville is back in a playoff spot and may not look to sell after all. NHL radio said Poile even said as much.

I agree. Which excites me and makes me nervous at the same time.

Anxious to see what 12pm tomorrow brings us. That's when we'll see if Ghost got claimed and when the Flyers would be able to make a move if that's what this was all for.

Yes but the only guy on that list we can use really is Ellis, even if you trade for him he isn't available this season anyways, the other guys on that list aren't put us over the top guys IMO, will they help? Possibly. Trying to do this mid season seems like a serious long shot to me.

Yep. Anyone can claim him, but if there's multiple claims the team with the worse record gets him. And they have until 12pm today to put a claim in, so there's never an early scoop

It is reverse order. The team who claims him first when their turn comes gets him.

If its the way you are saying wouldnt that be wasting all the teams time to put in the claim instead of just going team by team and if 29th team claims him everyone doesn't have to put the claim in.

Without cap gymnastics that are over my head, i think the only teams that have enough cap space to claim him are the Rangers, Panthers, Sharks, Wings, Devils, Senators, and Kings.
