What's going on in here

Oak's crying about the schedule.

It's unfair en sech.

We need....

Three Mid-Majors
Four P5's that aren't bowl eligible
Three P5's that barely make shit bowls
One P5 that goes (9-3), one of their 9 wins thanks to playing Nebraska
One elite CFP or New Years 6 team.

That way (9-3) and the Outback Bowl is a possibility.

RA's idea of an argument is apparently making up arguments for his opponent and shooting them down once he gets out of his depth in the actual discussion.

Their "cake" in recent years has been in their own division.

Sorry for making a factual statement. The best thing we can do to get back to relevance is competing for the conference title. That involves having a better record than others in the division, and strength of schedule amongst the division teams is not balanced.

Although Iowa better hope MSU doesn't get back on track by 2020... 3 week stretch of MSU, @OSU and @PSU

Once again. Bring the tough schedule.

"Hey kid, you'll have a chance to play a Sunbelt team, a MAC team, Northwestern, Minnesota, Illinois, Purdue, Indiana, and Rutgers on BTN or ESPNU every year."

"Hey kid, you'll have a chance to play Oklahoma, Ohio St, Michigan, and Penn St on national tv every year."

Duh

I'm all for tough schedules. I think recruits are too. You don't know how good you are as a team or a player until you play the best teams. And if you aren't beating the best teams then changes are needed. Coaching, players, recruiting, athletic department etc.

If you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best. Wooo

I'm not saying anything about Minnesota or Northwestern. Do you think playing modern day OU, Wisconsin, Michigan and OSU is easier or harder than our Big 8 schedule?

The big 8 is not the B1G, Why harder now, big 8 was not much other than OK and then maybe one other in given years, like CO, OSU, MIzzery. Can't recall having more than two teams to really worry about in a given year.

also meant more OOC teams to schedule with only 7 conference games...

Apparently this is a very incorrect thing to say. I was too young to remember, but we used to play the equivalent of modern-day Alabama every week.

The best kids either want to play for the elite programs or play against them. If we aren't elite (yet) let's get them kids in here who aren't afraid of the big bad wolves and load that schedule up. We'll turn the corner eventually.

And like T.O. said. Nebraska fans hated playing Oklahoma, but doing so made us better.

Two of the teams you are crying about cannot even be mentioned in the same sentence as 'modern day Alabama'.

I'm not worried about MSU. Historically (since '78) they've been average with sprinkles of success, like Iowa. When they had their recent string of 11 wins in 5 of 6 years, that's when Michigan was at it's lowest. Dantonio isn't exactly young. And their lead recruiter from the Detroit area was fired after last year's sexual assault horseshit.

I'm not saying that MSU will never beat Iowa, I'm just saying that they're not a juggernaut.

I was pumped when we joined the big 10 insofar as we would be playing osu um etc every year, not on a cycle of every 4 years without regard to the championship game, I know lol game, instead we get Rutgers and Maryland on the schedule, so equivalent to a freshly fucked Butthole. I'll bet the conference brass never expected our program to nosedive to middle bottom of the pack dweller however

Hence Nebraska losing the Black Friday Iowa game. They moved Nebraska to Minnesota and matched Iowa/Wisconsin in their final games because they've been and are perceived to be the best two teams in the West going forward. Wisconsin/Iowa should get better tv ratings due to the likely suspense of the winner being the West rep in the CCG.

The only winner here is Oak, who possibly gets to see Nebraska beat Minnesota in OT.
