I won't watch another Serena finals again.

It makes no sense what happens to her on this stage for someone who won 23 GS titles. The moment basically seem too big for her

It would be easier to explain if she lost a couple of down to the wire war.

But all seem to have this "mail it in" feel to them.

It makes no sense when she wipes the floor with opponents before she gets here.

Guess I was wrong. She didnt look like she had a lot left. 7 rounds may be too much for her still. This was the only hard ball striker she had to face and couldnt beat her. The tourny fell perfectly for her as most of the better players got upset and she didnt have to face them. Not sure she will get as fortunate going forward so this was a huge missed opportunity.

She misses a lot of serves, and the ones she does make, now seem returnable.

I still feel that Andreescu could have played better. She didn't play a clean match, and still won.

Nice to see players like her and Osaka become consistent, as well as the mid-career Halep.

I just wish Wozniacki could find her game again.

Not sure why Azarenka can't, either.

To me, a choke is losing a game / match where one had dominant control over.

Serena never had control over this match.

So this wasn't a choke.

Andreescu has staying power. Most of the opponents Serena has lost to in majors the past few years have been good players.

The one that surprised me was the French Open loss to Muguruza. I didn't think she had staying power, and she really hasn't. She didn't seem like a top 10 player with any one thing she did.

Osaka, Bencic, Sabalenka, Svitolina, Andreescu look like a good crop of younger players, and Halep is a good mid career player.

I hope Wozniacki and Azarenka can reach top 10 again, and that Kerber has a few more good runs in her.
