The Patriots worked out four wide receivers today, per source: Nick Williams (Titans), Justin Hunter (Steelers), Papi White (Jaguars) and Travin Dural (Saints).

Here's the latest from Day 1 at Foxboro.......

1. Julian Edelman will be out for the next three weeks with an injured thumb. It was apparently injured some time back but really started bothering him. Unknown what type of procedure was done. Thumb is now in a cast and the cast is covered with a red glove.

2. According to reports by ESPN’s Field Yates and Mike Reiss, the following players were moved to the PUP list today:

RB Sony Michel

WR Demaryius Thomas

OT Cole Croston

DE Deatrich Wise Jr.

CB Ken Webster

SS Nate Ebner

New England also decided to place one player on the non-football injury list, as first reported by Reiss:

OT Yodny Cajuste

Only rookies were required to show up at Gillette today but by all appearances the entire team was there and most players took to the practice field. There were no coaches directing players, Media was swarming and there was a ton of film showing Brady throwing to N'Keal Harry and others.

Rookies still have not been assigned permanent numbers.
