All the sources in that article about him staying are from rival teams just speculating. It's pretty darn impressive how tight lipped Kawhi's camp is. Damn near nothing gets out. When he retires, he should be in charge of keeping government secrets

Or in charge of the Lakers

5 nba finals trips in a row overall

Won in 2015, 2017, 2018

Would’ve won in 2016 if not for an epic collapse

Needed unprecedented injuries to lose in 2019

Honestly, The warriors didn’t really “need” KD.

Yes they did. They would've lost even had Klay Thompson stayed healthy in game 6.

They needed KD.

They also might have won the series if Klay stayed healthy.

Remember, he missed game 3 also. A game where Curry scored 47 points and the warriors lost at home because nobody else could score.

Guessing the Warriors have a good chance to get game 3 and they probably get game 6 too with Klay.

They were 1 for 3 in Finals attempts without KD, but they could have won either series they lost with a just bit of luck.

The point is that they were definitely a championship caliber team without KD. KD just made it almost automatic.

The Warriors have won one NBA Finals without Durant.

The year they won it was the Cavs first year together, and Kyrie and Love were injured, and David Blatt was the coach. The Cavs 2nd and 3rd best players were Mozgov and Delly in that series.

If even JUST Kyrie was healthy the Warriors likely have ZERO Finals wins without KD.

That's why I keep saying that I find it hilarious that some folks think they know what Kawhi is going to do.

I honestly can't think of a player who has ever been quieter than Kawhi. Dude makes Marshawn Lynch at a press conference look like he never shuts up. lol

It's literally up in the air. He could be in New York next week for all that we know...for his sake lets hope not lol

Yo what up. I got a promotion at work and fell off the face of the earth there for awhile.

Congrats to the Raptors.

I always thought seeing the Warriors lose with Durant would be gratifying, but with all the injuries it really wasn't.

You will be a Cleveland fan once again when Sexton and Garland become the best duo in the NBA, they trade away Love and add James Wiseman for the big trio. Dynasty in the making.

The real question is which team will be root for after LeBron retires in 2034? @gordontrue

Depends if the article BKS posted is accurate or not.

I always thought they rushed his injury when he should have rested a bit longer. It's going to cost him an entire season now.

If he's pissed off with the Warriors about that, then he's gone.

Every single team with cap space would sign him in a heartbeat.

I certainly don't see why he would sign long term with the Warriors with the intent to be traded once he is healthy. "So, I could go to the Knicks/Nets now with Kyrie, or I could wait a year and make them trade Kyrie (or other assets) FOR me, leaving me on a barren team. Hmm, let me think about that for a.....hell no."

Broke the NBA...didn't that bullshit get debunked by the Raptors? So anyone who wins a couple titles in a row is breaking the NBA?

How does that get debunked by the Raptors? He barely played against the Raptors.

That's all it has been since his trade. Nobody knows anything, but assumes they do.

Kawhi himself might not be sure right now. No reason to try & play the guessing game. I'd like to see him stay in Toronto. But if wants to get closer to home nobody should have an issue w/ it.

Meaning injuries happen and Durant going to the Ws didn't break anything. Dynasties don't mean the league is broken. They happen and then they end and a new one arrives usually pretty soon

To be fair part of the fun for us NBA nerds is endlessly talking about what might happen. But obviously no one knows and the players probably don't know yet.

A shit ton of money into the luxury tax, that is the only thing standing in the way other than KD's huge ego.
