Cavs are still like probably this year and maybe next year from moving from assest accumulation to putting a team together meant to compete.

They better not wait until Love is 33 to move him though; they'll end up having to package assets with him just to move that contract.

How can he have this offer if the process hasn't even started yet?

Wouldnt that be tampering? I dont believe this crap at all

It would be if it were provable.

Obviously, they can't make anything official, but you can bet, most of these guys already know where they're going and how much they're getting. Or at least have a very strong idea.

Baynes >>>>>>> Tacko, lol. Fall is just a tall body, not much pro level talent there.

I doubt he turns down $30.1M without getting interest from some team. Like you said, it's only tampering if you can prove it.

Either they keep him till he retires or they trade him within the next season. His value seems like it will only decline but if he were to stay healthy this year and have a great year...he would have nice trade value

Just checked, saw that Willie was a 55% foul shooter last season. Yikes.

He has some defensive versatility from the 5 spot, but he seems to have plateaued out on offense.

I wonder what the market value of a guy like that is?

Yeah who knows. He is pretty much a versatile defender, great on the fast for a athletic man but he is just a dunker. Can he shoot the mid-range? If not, he is a rich man’s Javale McGee

I was thinking Tristan Thompson.

Good defender and rebounder, but won't give you much more than garbage points offensively.

My guess is somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 years $50 Million or 4 years $60 million

I think he is probably worth more like 8- 10 million a year but somebody will overpay

Yours sounds like good analysis.

As of this moment, the Celtics currently have precisely 0 NBA big men on their roster with proven, capable experience... and I recall that in the year Cauley-Stein was drafted there were several rumors that Boston was interested in him... so it'll be interested to see if the C's go after him... if he is made more available, that is.

Regardless: it's guaranteed the Celtics will do something on the big man front... they basically have to.

You guys want Whiteside? I'll start the trade negotiations.

lol... there would have to be future draft compensation attached.

Danny Ainge has done that sort of thing in the past, though... guy loves future draft picks... so there's a chance.

Depends on which direction the C's are going... I don't think we have clarity on that yet.

I'm willing to give up a 2026 2nd round pick.

Not if he stays healthy (big if, I realize). His type of game wont fade much in the next 2-3 years. Might even be more moveable with a couple less years on it.
