@dtgold88 logic:

The Charlotte Hornets could win the NBA Championship. It's not impossible. They're a contender just like every other team in the league.

All they have to do is score more points than their opponents in every game they play.

More @dtgold88 logic.

If I go to a casino and bet every number in roulette, even though I lost money, I still won.

Who said that I have "so much confidence". Or is this you, once again, overstating something just to argue?

I clearly said "seems to" and "or at least seems to be". I also said "the jury is still out". What about those srtatements says I have alot of confidence.

What he did was get the AD trade completed and clearly had a plan in place to put together a better roster than last year in case Kawhi chose not to join the Lakers. He also did a nice job of implementing that plan when Kawhi chose the Clips.

And lol @ Ty Lue.
OK...switch from so much confidence to confidence. what's the lol @ Lue for? If it's his ability as a coach, the GM you think might be right for the job wanted to hire him (and couldn't).

He could have called him before he signed. You weren't aware? And here's a flash...deals are not signed. Only agreed to in principal.

PG re-signed with OKC the second the clock hit midnight. His mind was already made up.

Magic showed up on Lebron's doorstep at midnight too to try to convince him to join the Lakers. Lebron himself admitted he had to sleep on it.

Do you have proof Lebron and PG talked beforehand or is it just a "possibility"?

Yep. The Lakers were meant to sign super head coach Ty Lue to a much longer contract than any other team was actually willing to give him.

That's why every team looking for a new coach was just lining up to sign him as head coach.

What is he doing now again?
He's an assistant. But all you are doing is proving my point about Pelinka. What's he done to instill any confidence in him (better, Trojan)? He wanted Ty Lue to be your HC.

Now you equate Charlotte winning the title to making a phone call.

I had said you should stop embarrassing yourself, but selfishly I hope you do not. This is free comedy you are providing.

Yes. Everyone right now is literally making fun of you but i'm embarrassing myself.

I agree, that is odd. But at the same time I understand that the Lakers want assistant coaches that they vetted themselves rather than a couple of Ty Lues buddies.

Another issue I think was the length of contract. Lue wanted 5 years and the Lakers were only going to offer 3.
But he was their choice.

He didn't hire him because Lue wanted more years than the Lakers were willing to give him. He felt he deserved more, the Lakers disagreed.

Considering all of the teams that just lined up to hire him, it looks like the Lakers weren't the only team unwilling to give him what he wanted.

Oh my. Do you have some sort of stipulation with SportsHoopla you are forbidden from admitting your logic is off base?

I never made the claim he did recruit PG (I believe he did, but never stated it as fact). You asked how he could and I told you. He could have called him - stay focused, as this is where you seem to get lost - BEFORE PG agreed to leave.

Everyone? You and TurnUP? One of you spent the morning arguing with me and making my argument for me.

How about we try this....which is more likely to occur or have occured?
A) Charlotte wins 2019-20 NBA title
B) Lebron called PG to talk about FA

And no need to be a member of the large crowd who literally does not know the proper use of the word, literally.

why's that....now Trojan fans and a Heat fans have argued with Cavs fans today....making an argument for the Cavs' fan side.

well done.

Because the desperation of Cavs fans to try to pretend their team is relevant is hilarious. However, it's only funny because it's the off season.

De-rail the main thread during the season and you guys won't be posting in it.

Yep, more of the infamous dtgold logic.

He could have called him.

Just like the Hornets could become NBA champs.

Did he? And will they?

Yes the length of the contract was mentioned in the article I ran across. But I still find it odd the Lakers wanted to pick his coaching staff. Can't remember ever hearing something like that before.

OK...so what is the "lol" for? Your new GM who you think could be a swell hire tried to hire someone you say no one else wanted.

probably and no

You got me, though. I supplied logic about something that quite likely happened. You countered with something that is extremely unlikely to happen.

I could see requesting it, but not requiring it.

Already explained the lol.

The only reason Lue was considered was because Lebron likes him. Hence, a contract that was set to end at the same time Lebron's does.

I can't either. If I had to guess, I'd say that the Lakers weren't all that enamored with Lue and it was about Lebron liking him more than the Lakers liking him.

At least that's how it looks when combined with the length of contract they wanted to give him.
