Huh? They dumped all their overpaid, aging vets. Even told Jimmy Haslam you might want to stay away from games a couple years because it's going to get worse before it gets better.

You think Dorsey takes this job if not for where it was left? 5 picks in top 35, $100+ in cap space and one of those picks the #1 pick in a QB heavy draft?

Isn't to say Dorsey is perfect as many fans seem to think. He's made some mistakes.....but he's also made some nice picks and used the cap room and extra picks wisely it seems.

Correct, which means they were just being ran poorly vs some cryptic plan to lose for the last forever.
Lately they have been run much better, which hopefully now produces wins.

Browns made one horrific move after another which lead to their whopping 44-132 record over the last 11 seasons or whatever it is.
That isn't tanking.
I'll be kind and not include the years when the franchise first returned because expansion teams should be terrible.

I like the Browns, but I'm not going to fluff off how poorly they were ran and call it tanking.

Looks like they've regrouped and made some good moves.
I hope it works out for them.
I get the Browns were awful the last 11 years. Pretty much the last 20. Yes, they did not tank most of those years. That was the point. They insisted on signing overpaid, aging vets and were afraid to bottom out.

Finally, in 2016, they had a regime who was not afraid to bottom out. Their goal was dump the aging, overpaid vets, clear as much cap space as possible and acquire as many extra high picks as they could. In fact, they told the fans this and even told the owner it will get worse before it gets better (and this was at 3-13 to start). This would be called tanking.

1) How do you know the Heat wanted Lebron back?

2) How do you know Lebron wanted to come back to Miami?

3) Do you know incredibly heard it is to clear cap space when there are multiple years left on those "bad contract"

As I said a few minutes before, your post was very stupid

If Lebron wanted to come back, chances are he'd be back.
LeBron did exactly what he wanted to do, win 1 for the Cavs and then plan the next phase of his life/career which many thought would be LA.

My comment says as much. You'd think with that resume he could have maybe lured Lebron back. no?

You'd think the same about Deep Pockets Danny. Yet Lebron left twice.

Sometimes players leave, even when leaving doesn't look like the most logical move.

To sum it up.
1. You or anyone else has no idea when Cavs will be good again.
2. I haven't been unhappy with any Heat season result since James left, as I had no real expectation. Only regret last season was Wade not getting one last attempt to win a playoff series, but if Herro is the consolation prize, then it's fine.
Further, I never said 2-3 years, 3-4 years or any other prediction. I will predict Heat gets back to ECF before Cavs though.
1. That is true. Just like you don't know I am wrong. Funny how that works.
2. But you did say 2-3 or 3-4 years is wrong in my prediction....and also just said "no one knows" when they'll be good.

Kicking your own ass again.

Because? Like the Cavs, they had 4 years to do it if they wanted.

Cool. but unlike the Cavs, the heat were not intentionally for 4 straight years hoping Lebron can save their franchise.

When is the last time the Cavs did the following without Lebron on their team?

1) Made the playoffs?

2) Won a playoffs series?

not like WiggityWack's "less than 7 seasons to be contenders again" prediction...?

agreed, though. No one knows how long these things are gonna take....

Sometimes the truth hurts, but it is what it is.
Why the fuck people always equate sucking to tanking is mind boggling.
sucking was the Browns from return to 2016. Tanking was 2016-17.

You think when they dumped their aging vets after a 3-13 season - even though many were among their better players - they planned to improve?

You should check this article out. From wkyc.com. New report details Cleveland Browns' dysfunction under Jimmy Haslam.

So are you saying the complete dusfunction that was going on was part of the tanking plan you so strongly believe in?

1. why wouldn't they want arguably the best player in the game back if they felt they could get him?
2) I don't, but with no cap space to sign him you have zero chance. Cavs' didn't know, but they got him.
3) rewrite in English please

My post was stupid, even though you said "no one could know" meaning you don't know if I'm wrong.

Please never change.

Really reaching now.
You finally agree that 2-3 is stupid as can be, stretch it to 3-4 which is in the category of highly, highly unlikely then twist my comment into somehow agreeing with you?
No one knows, to me, is nowhere in that range, to be clear IMO.
One thing I'd bet anything on is it won't be 2-3 years which was your original prediction and what we now have 100 posts about it.

In 2016, they said the plan was dump aging vets, clear cap space and add high picks. Said the goal was to make a jump in 2018 with a bigger jump the next year
Their plan worked.

No disagreement at all.....but no one knew what he'd do and the Heat didn't even try.

No one once, ever felt or suggested he was coming back.
Where did LeBron coming back even come into this conversation?
Oh. I know. You need to try to spin the news cycle to get away form your 2-3 years Cavs prediction.

Thought you knew.

while many Browns fans didn't like it, I was often pissed at the end of some seasons when they'd go 4-12 or 5-11. A few extra losses in a couple of those years and we could have had Luck throwing passes to AJ Green.

Hopefully, it all works out in the end.....we'll start to get an idea soon.

Nothing Haslem did was part of the plan, other than him agreeing to the tank by Sashi Brown and Paul Dipodesta.....and allowing them to do what they said they'd do.

I saw what they were doing.
Two different discussions.
Saying they tanked for a couple years to recover from a decade of sucking is a fair way to state what happened.
