Whether they tried or not isn't the point. They didn't get it done.

A player can try hard too, but if he doesn't produce the results that the the team is looking for, they trade him.

The man claims he’s the best player in the league.
They didn’t get in done, in large part because of him.
LeBron went to Cavs, worse situation, and over time, because of his greatness, pretty much penciled his way in to the ECF for near a decade.

Never heard him or anyone else make that claim.

However, what does any of that have to do with whether or not the team can trade him if he doesn't produce the results they're looking for.

Or with him being able to request a trade when the team doesn't produce what he's looking for?

I know this answer. It's in the official wiggyruss NBA rulebook. Page 31. Section A.

One thing to request a trade.
Another to tell 28 of the other 29 that you won’t stay there.

And....

Of course they can trade him, unless no trade clause.
Team often pays huge penalty % to do it though.

Yep exactly but these GMs/Owners need to start making a stand. If a player make a trade demand, you don't have to trade them.

You think I would have ever traded PG if I was OKC knowing trading him means you have to trade Russ also? PG had 2 seasons left before he is even eligible to become a free agent. His ass would still be a Thunder if I was in the front office of that team

The league better drug test AD after that idiotic comment. How many playoff series did he win while with the Pels? Damn good player. But he looks like a fool saying something like that when he hasn't even made it to a conference finals.

Davis getting criticized, for good reason, but a big part of this is on Lebron and the agent he chose to make so powerful.

No way I can sleep at night if I have to write those checks to a guy that I know is not on the same page with what I’m trying to create. Say what you want but I think the Thunder did take a stand and made the very best out of the situation.

I agree, but its tough.
As is they have little leverage.
Im sure they will find a way to get it back.

Seriously? I make damn good money but the second I quit doing everything for the good of the organization I represent I will be looking to make damn good money elsewhere. It’s not just the owners, you get a check and work with people whose livelihoods are dependent on each other then you are accountable to them as well. That’s generally true no matter what you do or how much money you make. Accountability ain’t what it used to be though, and we are worse off for it.
said he would do whatever NO asked of him while under contract.

Except,

I am not sure the whole scenario could have possibly worked out any better for NO.

So it is a stretch to say they got screwed.
Not the best scenario, but do people really think NO would have been better if Davis never made a peep and just left after next season?

He did? Is there somewhere you can verify this where Davis, himself, told teams he wouldn't sign?

He absolutely got that put out there.

They also could travel by bus, but they wont, because it makes no sense.

Davis made it 100% clear he was going to the Lakers, if not this season, then next.
Yet when asked Davis makes it clear he's open to going to his hometown of Chicago. weird.

It came directly from his agent. You do know he communicated with Rich Paul right? Rich Paul wouldn't be his agent if Davis didn't want that message to get out

Public talk is cheap.
OK.....did he DO anything that makes you think this was not true, that he'd do what NO asked of him while under contract?

And here's a flash.....all you are doing is talking and you can only guess what others might do.
