Yes.

i mean thats an easy one, sure-- but what if the 2 year 30 is a team option for year 2? then is it better? i would argue probably not.2 yr/30 is better than 3 yr/33

what? You claimed the Cavs can't expect a Lebron to come save them. I tried to remind you the Lakers are hoping he can save them as well. what does this have to do with LA injuries?150-plus games lost due to injury.

what is the 3 year 33 is a player option for a third year that is insurance against injury or decline? what if a guy "values" going to a contender and takes a huge discount?
there is a big difference between signing in California with a crazy state income tax, and Texas with NO state income tax
too much subjectivity.
My point is exceedingly clear and exceedingly objective--- who gets more guaranteed money.
cleveland didn't just get a guy like him...they got him.LA can get guys like that to come as free agents. Cleveland?
Honestly I think it was just a goof in one poll and people liked it so it became a thing. Nothing to worry aboutYes.
Gave me a chuckle have to admit.....but really what's the better plan? Good thing they have an owner willing to spend extra to get those picks.I love how Cleveland's new motto is: Tank for the foreseeable future and try to pay as many guys who don't deserve it. What a time to be alive.
Can't expect another Kyrie no doubt......but some of the extra picks can be used in future trades if not on a player who helps them.Worked out, but very low % play.
In fairness, kind of the same as offering a bet on Heat winning a series when he doesn't think they will.i hope they dont win 30 games this year. If they win 30 games this year it will be bad planning by the front office
I think it's reasonable.....but cannot say I'd be shocked if they were 7 or lower and won 35-40 either. Not ridiculous at all to see them getting a 5 seed.
How much better are the Nets with Durant being out the entire year? Kyrie isn't the greatest teammate so there is a possibility him with no KD may have a negative impact.
I don't think it is a stretch to say the Heat, Nets, & Raptors will be between 44-47 wins or so roughly.
As a Heat fan, I think 5 or 6 seed and 44-47 wins is reasonable expectations.
while I have to say you are right in suggesting 2-30 is better than 3-33, you think it's automatic 1-15 is better than, say, 3-42?Higher Average Salary Per Season
That is only measuring stick that matters.
How/Why do we need to guess length of contract offers?
In fairness, kind of the same as offering a bet on Heat winning a series when he doesn't think they will.
Look at me basing my comment on post and not poster.
Not sure you saw, but FWIW my suggestion is you just make the bet and hope it's easy to judge who got the better contract. Agree on 3 posters to decide if those involved in bet cannot.
My thoughts, and the the thoughts of MANY other people- were that the signings to fill out the roster were ridiculously stupid ---- signing a bunch of malcontents that cant shoot set the team up for its eventual failure more than any other single factor.
while I have to say you are right in suggesting 2-30 is better than 3-33, you think it's automatic 1-15 is better than, say, 3-42?
I do agree with your premise here, but what about something like 1/15 vs. 3/36 or 3/42?More $/year is considered better to me.
I will say 2/38 can be viewed the same as 1/20 IMO, but straight salary takes any guess work out.
However, 3/36 is much better then for example 4/40.
That's why I think you should take my suggestion.....participants can see the contract and decide the winner. If it's not obvious, have 3 posters you all agree on cast a vote.In general, its usually not very hard to compare 2 contracts and know which is better.
I even agreed with him on option year.
