Purposefully? They were turning away interested assets? I doubt that. They may not have chased mediocre additions, bu then again, that is what they ended up adding. If they had the opportunity to add talent, they would've done so, as any team would.

How were they gonna do that while being well over the cap?

Even though some won't agree bc of the fallouts he had with coaches and rumors of him calling out players, that's what leaders do they inspire teammates even though it might be the bad. He is far from perfect but still a great leader on the court but especially off the court.

Guy needed Kuzma to push him to play D and be in the right place. Can he lead? sure, but more of a do as I say not as I do guy.
