Yeah, I was really on the fence about recruiting Kawhi. As much as I liked the idea of Lebron, AD and Kawhi being Lakers and then continuing with AD and Kawhi when Lebron retires...I also liked the idea of splitting up the cap space among several "next tier" guys.

Once they made the commitment to go after Kawhi, they really had no choice but to play it out all the way to the end. Doing that and not getting him is better than if they had tried to put a time limit on him and then find out they could have had him if they had just been more patient.
And Kuz and Cousins can alternate as 3rd option.

He also is 38 years old.

Is an awful defender but he is a shooter. He can still shoot. You hide him in a lineup where you have defenders around him maybe like...

He has played with James and is a sniper from trey-land.

Also a huge liability on defense.

They also already at 15 players which is the maximum (excluding 2 way contracts) so they would have to release a player

And made 38.4% of his 3's last season.....he'd be a good addition to any of the 3 teams he's looking at.

His worst percentage since 2008, by the way. Other depth Laker signings shot better last year (Cook, Caruso, Dudley, Daniels, etc) and defense is a bigger need at this point IMO.
