agree about Boogie, though. could definitely be an x-factor IF he can return to a high percentage of his pre-injury form...

lol and before anyone forgets, the trade deadline could make this season even MORE interesting...

lol

Almost the same post, looks like you beat me by a nanosecond.

To me, the bold is potentially the X-factor.

If he can get at least close to pre-Achilles Boogie, it could essentially give the Lakers a 3rd star level player (or darn close) which would make a huge difference.

CLEARLY great minds think alike lol...

Yeah, I'm talking Shit because I'm uber-happy.

But, I'm not underestimating the Lakers.

Y'all addressed your shooting woes and have 2 top 5 players.

Defense is still a real problem.

But, if Boogie is even 70%....

Fuck me sideways....lol

Is there ever a bad time to talk shit about the Lakers?

It has gotten tougher to talk trash about them. But I'm confident I'll think of something.:heh:

A difference?!?!

* sobs quietly *

Has LeBron ever had that?

2 legit inside and outside threats that are big men?

Shaq was washed.

Bosh was a lesser version of Davis's POTENTIAL.

I say potential because Bosh still got it done at a high level playing with a minimum of 3 other HoFers, I'm counting Allen.

Less see if Davis can do it surrounded by other good scoring options.

Don't @ me Heat Fans. Bosh was awesome and could have put up bigger numbers had he not been a Heatle.

But, he was never...THIS...on both sides of the ball.

The Lakers should use the Philly approach with Embiid, or at the very least, sit Boogie till XMas like the Dubs.

If he's healthy and in shape by playoff time?

:tsk:

Oh hell no! The only way your team's winning it all next season will be on a video game system.

No. We get it. It's one thing getting into a debate on Kevin Love being better than Bosh (he wasn't). It's a whole another issue with AD who I think we can all agree was better than Bosh. Bosh was never a top 10 player in the league, let alone top 5 like AD.

I do think Bosh was a top 10 player when he signed in Miami.

Difference is, as I have said before, I think there are like 8 or 9 guys currently who would have been top 3-4 players in most eras.

I wish I could afford to live there. The cost is living is crazy expensive I've been told.

I lived there for free for 4-5 months, would still be there if the job I thought I had lined up was still there when I got there. Luckily, my brother had an apartment through USD and I lived with him until I ran through most of my money and moved back to NY (and back to my old job). San Diego has perfect weather IMO, as long as you're on the coastal side of the mountains. That ocean breeze is crucial.

That's because we always underestimate the Spurs.

They lost their starting backcourt last year to injury.

Let's see what they look like healthy and with the new additions.

Morris fits the Spurs perfectly.

I still don't like the fit of both Aldridge and DeRozan together. They are another team on the brink of wholesale free agency, just a year after the Raptors in 2021. Hopefully Murray can have a healthy season so they can see what they have in him, as he will be an RFA next summer.

I'm not sure I'd want to try to rank them.

I expect that Lebron and Kawhi will both be playing around 60-65 games due to load management. PG and AD may well miss a few as well.

So, both the Clippers and Lakers may actually be the best 2 teams in the West, but not finish with the best record.

And how do you rank the Warriors? I expect they'll look a lot different from October through February than they will after Klay gets back. By the time they get to the playoffs, they could be the best team if they're playing like they did pre-KD.

I think there are probably 4 legit title contenders in the Clips, Lakers, Warriors and Jazz. But the other 4 teams are capable of upsetting any of those 4 in a playoff series.

I expect Steph to go off...nothing will change too drastically but my top 4 in the west right now would be:

Clippers
Jazz
Lakers
Warriors

But I also think the Nugs, Blazers and Rockets will be right there.

That’s 7 teams. Kinda crazy.

That being said, the East is going to be very good too, not as good overall but right there.

76ers
Bucks
Pacers
Celtics
Nets
Raptors
Heat

I think the Hawks could take a step but might be too early to say they make the playoffs

Eh.

I disagree.

If you list out the top 20 players in the league, like 70% of them are in the West. The top teams in the East either made lateral moves or got worse.

6ers and Bucks might be able to hang with the top West teams, but the balance of power still very much favorable the West in terms of depth and probable quality at the top too

Out of curiosity, could you list them again?

Well, as long as the initial post didn't lead to one of those stupid ass, week-long troll fests.

If it did, not worth it.

How do you see Philly's MONStars lineup working?

I feel like spacing will be a issue.

If it did, not worth it.

In no particular order:

Kawhi
KD
LeBron
Giannis
Curry
AD
Harden
Embiid
Lillard

Lillard is questionable. But that is a heck of a list.

In most eras the gap between 1 and 4 is wider than the gap between 1 and 9 today.
