The Kings looked good too at the beginning of the season but they slowed their pacing towards the all-star break. But even if they manage to maintain that throughout, I don't think it's any room. Look at this...

Maybe if the Blazers fall off.
I like the Ariza pick up.

Spurs gonna be sneaky good with Morris, Derozan, White, Gay, Aldridge and a healthy Murray and Walker.

I like the Caroll signing too.

A bad start can leave you on the outside looking in out West.
I have seen quite a few people saying they're just average and aren't a good shooting team. Their offense wasn't the issue last year. The defense was, and that improved IMMENSELY this off-season.

I like the Ariza pick up.

He should help defensively yeah.

I looked at their depth chart and every single player on their team can play out of position while shooting 3's ( or at least attempt to ). That's pretty something. Might not be the most efficient shooters, but at least they're one of the teams who know how the NBA is now. They just need a star. Unless they're banking on Fox or Hield to make that leap.

Kings have good depth and solid 3pt shooting throughout the team. The biggest issue is stars win in this league and they don't have any yet(Fox, Buddy, and Bagley could become all stars or all NBA players). Will their depth and the improvement from the young players plus Buddy Hield be enough to get a playoff spot in the tough Western Conference? I wouldn't say their chances are good but there could be one or two teams who really fail to live up to expectations or suffers key injuries which opens a door for them.

Both he and George have concerns.

George had surgery on both shoulders, if I'm not mistaken.

We aren't a lock for anything.

But, I'm hopeful.

Utah, Denver, Clippers, Blazers, Lakers all look good on paper.

But, I'm not sleeping on the Rockets, Dubs nor Spurs.

Making the Playoffs out West will be BRUTAL.

Lakers and Clippers could be the best 2 teams in the West, but plenty others that can step up and beat either.

The concern for the Clips is depth, the concern for the Lakers is defense. They are too big and slow to defend modern NBA offenses efficiently, IMO.

I think the Clips are the team to beat, but it will be a heck if a season.

There's a very possible chance that a team can win 50 in the West and miss the playoffs. Multiple teams could be in that boat. My 8 right now in no order:

Jazz
Clippers
Lakers
Spurs
Rockets
Warriors
Blazers
Nuggets

Don't think the Pels get there THIS year. Think they just miss out.

I'm not sure I'd want to try to rank them.

I expect that Lebron and Kawhi will both be playing around 60-65 games due to load management. PG and AD may well miss a few as well.

So, both the Clippers and Lakers may actually be the best 2 teams in the West, but not finish with the best record.

And how do you rank the Warriors? I expect they'll look a lot different from October through February than they will after Klay gets back. By the time they get to the playoffs, they could be the best team if they're playing like they did pre-KD.

I think there are probably 4 legit title contenders in the Clips, Lakers, Warriors and Jazz. But the other 4 teams are capable of upsetting any of those 4 in a playoff series.

Yup.

Neither of us will have the best record out West.

Could be Denver, Portland, Jazz....Shit, even Houston.

Both our squads will have a healthy load management regiment.

That's because we always underestimate the Spurs.

They lost their starting backcourt last year to injury.

Let's see what they look like healthy and with the new additions.

Morris fits the Spurs perfectly.

(but, nice to know I gots a dog IN the fight:D)...
Yeah, I'm talking Shit because I'm uber-happy.

But, I'm not underestimating the Lakers.

Y'all addressed your shooting woes and have 2 top 5 players.

Defense is still a real problem.

But, if Boogie is even 70%....

Fuck me sideways....lol

agree about Boogie, though. could definitely be an x-factor IF he can return to a high percentage of his pre-injury form...

lol and before anyone forgets, the trade deadline could make this season even MORE interesting...

To me, the bold is potentially the X-factor.

If he can get at least close to pre-Achilles Boogie, it could essentially give the Lakers a 3rd star level player (or darn close) which would make a huge difference.
