Yes and a title. What does OKC have?

An owner who lost Harden because he wouldn't pay him?

translation - Riley thought his team was better than they were and did not come up with the best plan to get back to being a contender.

Now that's more a fact than the one you claimed as fact.

No its not, but you’re entitled to your opinion, as am I.

Wait..."a FEW days" !?!?!

Oh for fucks sake! Really? If he's gonna do that, could he at least release a statement from his camp that says something like "I'm decided on Saturday or Sunday" so we can all stop looking for any kind of update every few minutes? Most all of this circus would just go away if his camp would just put a tiny bit of information

Thinking of jumping on the Raul Neto bandwagon.
Bought some ankle sleeves and athletic tape, just in case.....

But is it Kawhi doing this? Or the sports/entertainment/ESPN/Woj/SportsHoopla megalith? He's just doing his process and WE are the ones obsessing over everything every minute. He and his team have basically said we are going to meet with 3 teams, and now they are doing so.

It's both. The circus exist primarily because there is zero info to go on so they are supplementing their own. Privacy is fine. He doesn't have to do a Lebron type Decision event, announcing every detail along the way. But just basic statements like "We're going to meet these teams on this day. We'll decide at during this time period" would put an end to LOTS of the speculation

Kind of is......Miami clearly was not a contender last year. You want to debate that? Think they'll be one next year?

How does me saying that Riley made mistakes translate to you asking me if I think they’ll contend?

Fact is, Cavs defied the odds, more then once , which equates to luck.

FACT READ BELOW

Just like 2011 when the Cavs vaulted up the draft board from the No. 8 spot, this was unexpected; owner Dan Gilbert didn't even bother attending.

Going in with a 1.7% chance, the Cavs started the night in the ninth position. Fans were waiting for the envelope to be pulled out, expecting the Cavs' logo to be unveiled. Instead, it was the Detroit's. No need to scout Doug McDermott or Aaron Gordon anymore, it's time for the Cavs to think big. They will have their choice - Andrew Wiggins, Joel Embiid or Jabari Parker.

People around the NBA were shocked. ESPN's Bill Simmons was unhappy.

agree, but as mentioned Manning was a bad analogy to use.....by you. an elite QB on his own can absolutely take a middling team to a division title. Probably the reason NFL teams almost never allow elite QBs to get away.

That's what I meant when I said bad analogy as Peyton Manning is a Mt. Rushmore QB.

Cavs were without Kyrie until Christmas in their title season. Love has missed a number of games. CP has missed considerable time, as well. Hell, Brogdon is probably better than Waiters and he missed a number of games last year. By choice, but Kawhi missed 20ish.

Anything related to Cavs - you had Lebron to fall back on. At key points during the season I'm referencing, Dragic and Waiters missed significant portions of this past year where they played 36 and 44 games, respectively. When you're missing your starting backcourt for a majority of the season where your team structure is more balanced (compared to having multiple All-stars), it's still not a great recipe for success.

When did they win lotto with 3% chance? The Irving win? If so, their own pick gave them a 25% chance, they just happened to win it with the Clipper pick. Wiggins pick? whoever they took there was probably headed to Minnesota in a Love deal as they had no other suitors.

Your thoughts on Blatt are opinion. Not fact. What's fact is you might not know the difference between fact and opinion.

Did they know Lebron was coming back? I'd say no, so they hired a coach they liked best. Clearly it didn't sway Lebron's decision.
LeBron started hinting that he might come back as soon as his 2nd year in Miami.

The Cavs did get lucky in the draft, but when you have a lot of bullets, some will hit. They added tons of picks over those years.

I hope the plan is the exact same, suck for 2-3 years, rent out your cap space for assets, get a bunch of good young players and before they are up for their extensions dip into the free agent market.

I like that idea a lot better than trading lightly protected future first rounders to go from a 40 win team to a 45 win team and likely to have our ass kicked in the first round year after year- if they even make it to the first round (havent even made the playoffs 2 of the last 3 years).

Cavs had a lot of swings in the draft this year and should for the next draft or two if they keep to their plan. They just have to draft well.

What I absolutely hope they do not do is scrap the rebuild, trade future first rounders, and sign a bunch of mediocre veterans to expensive deals in order to be the 7 seed.

Forget about the Sixers, id take the MAgic's roster over the Heat's any day of the week without a second thought. At least with talent like Gordon, Bamba, Isaac they have an actual prayer. Bamba is raw as they come but he will be the best player in the Southeast Division before his 25th birthday. Book it.

lol....i dont think anyone could possilby think Miami was a contender last year or will be one this year.

I dont even believe the biggest homer of a Heat fan would say they have ANY hope of getting out of the 2nd round if by some miracle they get out of the first round- which is extremely extremely unlikely.

You forgot about the others - they lost more than just one really good player. If they had held that team together, they would have without a doubt won a couple of titles. I will always feel bad for the fans that got screwed on that end.

He hasn't. It reminds me of an old saying: An emergency on your part does not make it an emergency on my part.

In short, He is under no obligation to rush it for any one, but there is one thing that he may have over-looked. The longer it takes for him to decide, may make it more difficult it not impossible to build a team around him if he is going to the Lakers. Even Toronto and the Clippers might have made some different moves knowing they had him. The other teams that knew they had no chance at the first tier audits, went quickly into snatching up the 2nd tier audits.
