@DJ

Because of his 2 way potential, I really like Tatum.

Tatum can't create like Ingram.

But, he's Kawhi to Ingram's Blake Griffin.

Which of those two guys do you think is better?

I like Ingram defensively once he eats 2k cheeseburgers....

I hate that analogy but think Ingram and Tatum are both gonna be good players for a while.

A lot of folks repeating lines such as "Tatum regressed" or "the shine is off Tatum."

It's nuts.

I get general criticism against the Celtics and, of course, criticism against the infighting on the team... of course the C's can also be criticized for their play this post-season...

But focusing on Tatum as an issue is not even supported statistically to any significant extent. And, of course, Hayward (who plays the same position) coming back is an obvious mitigating factor to the plateauing that transpired.

Where did this line come from?
Maybe they think if they repeat enough it will be true?

I don't always get things right either.

But, I try to do a little research if I'm unclear on my position being factual.

A simple glance at the stats is all it takes to put this convo to bed.

His body language was bad.

He didn't take a leap forward.

But, he didn't crash and burn either.

Lol.....I hear you.

Some Dudes don't fill out.

Durant, Crawford, Garnett....etc.

The reason I used those 2 players is based on their skill set RIGHT NOW.

Blake can score, rebound and create.

Being able to jump out the gym has done nothing to enhance his defensive potential.

Ditto for Ingram and those pterodactyl ass arms.

I actually don't think Ingram will be as good as Blake....

Early Blake with that athleticism was a MOFO.

They both give up great stats. But, you aren't winning shit with either as your #1.

Kawhi wasn't a big scorer early on.

Like Tatum, he had Tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmy and Toni to carry that load until he was ready.

He hasn't shown it consistently.

But, Tatum came in to the NBA with a better shot than Kawhi.

The metrics back it up.

Have heard rumors that the Cavs are going to be active and will be in the thick of 3 team-trade deals with the JR Smith contract which will be a major chip in facilitating some moves.

J. R. seriously...?
he literally has the very last contract in the NBA grandfathered into the old CBA that allows for a team to only count the guaranteed portion against their cap.

His contract, if fully guaranteed is about 16M next year. The guaranteed portion of the contract is only 3.5M. Now, you cannot structure contracts like that anymore.

But since his contract is grandfathered in, say a team like the Knicks or Mavs, or whoever wants to open up cap room, can trade the Cavs a player worth about 16M for JR Smith, and then cut Smith, and open up about 12M in cap space instantly.

Yeah, he actually has good technique, is long and athletic and actually does a good job.

But he's so damn light in the ass that it's easy to bump him off.

Tough not to like a damn near 7 footer that is athletic as he is.

I don't think anyone has said that he crashed and burned or that he necessarily regressed. But he did take a little bit of a step back and his body language that you mentioned is part of that.

No one on the Celtics responded well in the playoffs and Tatum was part of that. Star players step up when things are going south and he didn't.

Having said that, it certainly doesn't mean he won't still be a star player. Especially if he learns from it. Which I think he will.

Except, it's not that serious and he is expected to make a full recovery.
Yes I know that and I hope they know that too. I went through with my mother once and her doctor offered an alternative to the Cumulin medicine which was shot that I had to administer for ten days. Due to her age, putting my mother on the medicine permanently was not considered to be a good option.

I am hoping that Lonzo Ball, Ingram and the Lakers 4th pick would get us almost there. I think they will Want Kuzma and another first round pick next year though

* Leaves this right here and side eyes @DJ *

Except, Tatum regressed....compared to his rookie season.

Agree about the body language.

Awful.

But, I still love his potential.
