So since he is the best of a mediocre lot as far as ERA, he gets in? To me they have been watering down the HoF recently. I'm fine if no one gets elected in a particular year. Its unfair to the real HoFers from the past. We still talk about Walter Johnson, Cy Young, Sandy Koufax, Bob Feller, Carl Hubbell and Bob Gibson etc to this day but no one will be talking about Roy Halladay as one of the greats in the coming generations.How many pitchers in the past 25 years with a substantial amount of innings (say, 2,000+) have had a career ERA as low as Halladay's 3.38. Try to make the list and you'll see why you're wrong...
