Also... The B1G rules for recruiting are specifically different than other conferences. In the B1G, like in other conferences, you cannot sign more than 25 per class but you CAN back count to a previous class to take more. This Nebraska can sign 30 because they can back count 5 from last class.

The difference is, in the B1G you cannot over sign the 85 by more than three. So, if you have 20 open scholarships the most you can sign is 23... In that case counting back doesn't help and the 25 is a moot point. HOWEVER, with attrition Nebraska has 27 open scholarships... This to get to 88 they can take 27+3. However, that's when the 25 in a class rule kicks in, but since they didn't take up enough scholarships last year they can now back count five. Your brain hurt yet?

Suffice it to say 30 is the hard cutoff number, but they will take at least 27 for sure.

Josh Wegener. I like it. Walking on, no less. Can he be the starter? You betcha.

Not much on him from 2017. Committed to northern Iowa out of high school.

IWCC brings in slew of newcomers

Senior Season Highlights

Played dline to and showed some speed

He is from Algona, Iowa, which I used to drive through when going to Spencer, Iowa, then to Milford, to Three Sons to buy University of Okoboji stuff. then to Lake Okoboji.

Speculating, his grades weren’t in order, he can still walkon enroll early and go through conditioning and spring camp
I’m wondering about Bland with this same principal

Thanks I guess

The way the new rules work if he (or any transfer) waits until after the February signing date to make it official they count against the next years class. He is a 4* DT who played as a true freshman and was literally our best defensive player early until he broke his wrist. Apparently he was at a girls soccer game and fell on it and for us holy shit that sucks but early word was he didn't declare so we get a free season out of a great DT.

Our DL coach is gonna be KSU's DC so his position coach is moving on and a Big 10 resume takes him into day 2, so I don't like it but I understand.

Part of me hopes he twists his knee week 2 and part of me says he gave us 4 years so good luck on his next step

Since it is now official, it just shows that we Nebraska fans are smarter than the ones on the Oklahoma State message board.

At least when it involves recruiting for Nebraska.

I am sure oil drilling we might not be as smart, although I went to Colorado School of Mines.

So... It doesn't look like Mills will be signing, but, he doesn't have to sign (actually, no players HAVE to sign at all) but could just enroll come January. I expect that to still happen.

Also. Interesting offer yesterday to an OLB... Larry Asante's little brother (Eugene) was extended an offer and will likely visit. Miami, VaTech and UCLA are knocking on the door too.

In terms of up side? Probably Asante... In terms of ready sooner... Probably Mack... I think it's first come first serve though, no one is a back up plan, they would take either depending on when they wanted to commit.

They said... Depending on how things go with a few other targets I could see them taking both.

I like that take. I read a lot into who is offered and how the kid we offered reacts, then how our staff reacts, in the end it means very little normally but trends can be plotted. Data points are unrelated at this time however with this staff vs the previous
