Yeah I have to agree it was a head-scratcher at first, still concerned 3 years from now will it be worth it?
Live in the now dammit!

Didn't watch the match vs the Bruins, but from what I'm reading things were bad right out the gate for Murray. Allowed 2 goals in the first 2 minutes??? Heard Sully put Jarry in net, only to return Murray back on the ice... Seeing videos on social media of the crowd in an absolute uproar over it. And some of the players weren't too happy about the home crowd.

Also saw the vids of the scores on Murray. Hard to fault the man for being left on an island against odd-man rushes & shots at point-blank range. The entire defense needs to be better than that.

Amazed they were able to stick it out and win 4-3.

He bounced back from a shaky start. But honestly his play this season caused the fans to turn on him, what is interesting though lately Jarry was shaky so no sure that would have been a good replacement.

Murray's 3rd period stats have been lights out lately. But that has a lot to do with the defensive flow in general. Penguins are notorious for having a slow start on defense.

But in Murray's last five 3rd periods:
Stopped 20/21 vNSH
Stopped 9/9 @MTL
Stopped 14/15 @COL
Stopped 10/10 @DET
Stopped 14/14 vBOS

2 goals allowed on 69 shots in the 3rd period... And the team has won ALL 5 of those matches.

Sully's decision to stick with him after the 1st vBOS was obviously a great choice. Jeers to all those fans that were bronx-cheering Murray in the 1st... SMH! Give the man a chance. Hell it was Jack Johnson's dumbass that 5-holed him. I think JJ had a bet on Boston in that game.

Is there anything worse than being shut out by the damn Flyers????

FD:FLJKSDFLKSDJF:SKDFJ!!!!!!!!!!!

Games like these happen every so often, but that was easily the worst of the season so far. Or is it a pattern? Seems like they always sleep-walk their last game heading into the break.

Have to give the Flyers credit they played a great defensive game and Elliot was great.
The one silver lining out of this, if their offense shows continued lul's it will expedite the trade for additional scoring. Really can't wait for Kreider or someone like him to be in a Pens uni.

I get this overwhelming feeling that Matt Murray is channeling some vintage 2010-2015 MAF to a T... Gives up those softies late in the match to negate everything that he did in the previous 40 minutes. But it still has A LOT to do with the defense. It's nonexistent at times.

Caps dominated their zone in the 3rd by pure physicality. That was not a good look.
Oh yea and cuck the faps! 4-3!!!!!!!!!!! The Metro belongs to the Pens! :yahoo:

Fucking LeTang...always with the give away passes, lazy on d and letting go of his responsibilities. Man I hope they leave him unprotected for the Kraken!

Seriously hope so also. If Marino is the real deal (which I think he is) they will need that money.

And speaking of Marino I want to continue to point this out and bask in the incompetence that is the Oilers.

Yeah when it first happened they stated minor but after the reports came out he might need surgery I see were confirmed today. :L
Rutherford's going to have to play things awful tight with the trade deadline that is looming... I'd say within a 48-72 hour window, maybe less, they will have to make that decision with assessing their defense moving forward. They know Marino & Dumoulin will be back, but when... Hard to say right now.
