what a shit show.

Honestly its great that the players are passionate about the issue but are insane thinking boycotting will do anything.

Lebron is trying to be a messiah .

Says he didn't push to cancel. I'm sure it's the consortium of dudes with Lou will on the clippers and the characters with Bradley and Howard on the Lakers.

Fine. Have them both forfeit and let's move on. Everyone else wants to play

Let whoever wants to play on the Lakers and clippers keep going with the series as is imo. They can get a one time waiver to pick up free agents if needed.

If two teams cancel a season that would be ridiculous. And the majority of the dudes on the Lakers and clippers have never tasted a title. Weak sauce

Yeah you can't make 2 teams cancel the season. I don't care how many big name players are on those teams. Have them forfeit their first round series and we move on to round 2

Staying united and strong in the bubble and continuing the season as well as using this platform to speak their opinion seems like the more logical thing to do. This boycott is doing nothing lol...what a bunch of idiots.

Well, its not doing "nothing". It's gotten people to pay attention. Which is the point. It's calling attention to the issues at hand. And depending on what plans they come up with, can draw further attention, launch initiatives, etc.

I do agree that it would be in their best interest to keep playing at some point though. The reason the boycott is an effective noise maker is because they were playing to begin with. If they never bothered to start playing like some players proposes earlier this summer, most of their voices and outreach would be unheard and unnoticed. Like the only player with any kind of cache that will make headlines if there's no games is if Lebron does something. If there's no basketball, the news isn't gonna talk about Jaylon Brown attending a rally.

What more do they want from the owners? Would they like the owners to arrest these cops?

Could pressure them to open up their arenas for voting. A few have already, but not all.

The owners have extreme clout and influence in local politics, how do you think they get tax payer funded stadiums? They want the owners to actually use their connections for the greater good rather than their own pocket book for once.

instead of threatening to leave a city because they didn't get tax payer money, how about threatening to leave because of injustice?

What more do they want from the owners? Would they like the owners to arrest these cops?

Yea I don't know how you could possibly find fault in what the league has done.
I don't think whatever this is, is about the owners. It's all pretty spontaneous and chaotic. It's relatively young but very visible people trying to figure out what they can do

well, here's my take on the situation...

like Heatles, i came from humble beginnings too in South Central L.A. just depends how badly you wanna get outta that situation...

The unfortunate truth is that the easiest path for a lot of these kids is crime.

That is always going to be difficult to change.

No doubt. But that's where at least half the effort should be focused. In addition to that we seem to be more hell bent on the police themselves rather than changing the system that they are merely enforcing.

It's like blaming the refs in the NFL for the stupid pass interfere replay they tried out. Wasn't the refs idea it was just a bad rule.

Work on the system itself that is designed to mass incarcerate...especially young black males.

All that said of course there are bad cops and there has been a lot of turning the blind eye to bad behavior from bad cops. I won't deny that. But the issue is bigger than just that.
