People really don't know how to social distance.

Heard the bars and restaurants in NYC last night were crowded as always lol.

I haven't left the crib outside of a quick trip to the grocery store yesterday

This coming week would have been really fun for the Heat.

A chance to sweep the season series vs the Bucks and TJ Warren vs Jimmy Butler part 2

Haven't watched it yet.

Hear it's breaking bad-ish, banshee-lite and that Season 2 is straight SAVAGE.

I am a huge fan of the TV show Banshee.

Banshee is like a mixture of the constant p'orn of the TV show Spartacus and John Wick 3.

If you haven't seen Banshee, give it a look.

Loooove that show. Got several friends and family hooked on it.

Yeah, your health is important.

I wouldn't go back either.

I wish I would not have developed a conscience after working in Corrections and went into a 2nd career that was less people centric.

We are walking around in fucking respirator masks all day.

The shitty part?

They are only 95% effective in blocking bacteria.

What in the actual FUCK!?!?

So, even when this is over, I have to quarantine for 2 weeks.

Yeah that sucks.

I heard in other countries where it is a lot more advanced, like 2/3 hospital staff or more are focused on Coronavirus and they aren’t even screened. Because they all either have it or will have it.

Only the doctors/nurses working in non corona areas still get scanned.

Health care workers are almost assured of getting it at some point.

lol

Had to go to the store this morning for some powdered sugar.

I went to a store that is normally open 24 hours, but is closing from midnight to 5am to stock their shelves.

So, I was there at a little after 5 this morning figuring I'd beat the crowd. There was already a line and a store employee out front telling folks that the store had changed its hours and wouldn't be opening until 7am. I went back home (amazed at the number of people who were going to wait 2 more hours).

About 6:45am I went to another store that opens at 6. There was a line and a sign on the door saying they wouldn't open until 8.

So, I went to Super Walmart. I was expecting to find the same situation, but was surprised to see that there was no line and people coming in and out. I'm thinking "SCORE". I go inside, go to the baking aisle and find that they are out of every kind of sugar, including powedered.

So, I go back to the first store, which is now open. There's still a line (they are limiting the number of people in the store at one time), but it's moving okay, so I get in the line. This couple in front of me and I start talking and he mentions the social distancing. He says "Yeah, this is ridiculous. I can't go to church this morning...but look at this line".

All of that for a bag of powdered sugar. lol

Did the NBA void George's contract while I was sleeping?

If the Season gets cancelled, Clippers will be in a bind.

Trezl, Morris, Jackson will be unrestricted.

We can pay the first 2. But, no chance we keep Jackson seeing as though we are over the cap and can only offer the minimum.

Morris is easier. Because the Knicks gave him 15 mil, we can offer 125% of that as his starting salary.

Jackson isn't playing for 3 mil.

No.

This seems like a once in a lifetime set of circumstances that has led us to where we are today.
How so? You don't think there will be another new virus every few years? Seems plausible

I do hope China now bans their 'wet markets' with all those exotic animals packed in with all those people. That might help.

I like Jimmy Butler. Can’t help it. He is a winner.

He can be a real asshole at times too, but that could also be said about some of the all time greats in NBA history.

Dude wants to win and he doesn’t tolerate guys who aren’t willing to work with him to get there. Seems he found the perfect locker room culture to go out and do his thing.
You know who else had that exact same attitude? Jordan and Kobe. Not that he's on their level but the competitive fire seems similar.

Bagley given extra time to get back so he can help the Kings secure 9th for a 2nd straight year.

Pandemics occur on average every 30 years.

So no. I don’t think there will be a new virus like this one anytime soon.

In the past 20 years we've had SARS, swine flu, Ebola, Zika, and now this.

If you take out Hubei where it started and they didn't have any countermeasures, and the air quality is for shit and everyone smokes, the rate is far less. And still mostly old people. I just don't think we can do this every flu season.

That's not true. Italy, earlier this week, was up to 6% mortality rate because their hospitals have been overwhelmed and people can't get treatment. Here in the US, its been hovering around 2 to 3% depending on the number of confirmed cases and deaths, which changes daily.

He's talking about pandemics with high mortality rates that reach here in the US. They don't occur often. The flu outbreaks had a lower mortality rate. The SARS outbreak from the early 2000s had a higher mortality rate but a lower spread so it wasn't as concerning. Zika is a little different because it can vary greatly depending on if you carry sickle cell disorder. And Ebola was mostly contained to central Africa. The difference here is this specific coronavirus has the combination of both a substantial mortality rate and a level of spread.

I don't believe your US figures
Do you have a link?

And none of them shut down the entire world like this has.
That's my point. Is this how we handle viruses from now on? If not, why not?

Just do the math when you see it on the news. The other day it was 40 some deaths to 1200 cases. That's 3%. Now its 60 to 3000, which is 2%
