Because Durant was a consensus top 3 player with OKC. To say he improved with Golden State because he got easier shots is silly.
Played better D too
But I guess you don't believe in efficiency

I believe in someone being one of the top 3 players in the NBA and an MVP.

That he went to a more talented team which gave him easier shots is obvious.

Your claim was that Durant got better with the Warriors. His previous 6 years with the Thunder his MVP award shares were 5,1,2,2,5,2. He went to a team that had won 73 games the season before.

Let's try it this way. He was a top 3 player on OKC. Did going to a better team make him a lesser player? No, of course not. In fact it made him a more efficient scorer and gave him the room and system to be better defensively.

That he went to a more talented team which gave him easier shots IS obvious. Of course he's not going to get as many MVP votes on that team. He was able to get two Finals MVPs however. Does that mean he was a worse player there? The same?

Let's bring this back to what started it, Wiggins. Wiggins, for the same reasons as Durant, should be more efficient and play better defense. That's all I'm saying.

Doc needs to get Morris going.

Clippers treating him like he's he's Dwight Howard.

Play defense, shag boards and only touch the ball on accident or putbacks.

Well, play without a traditional PG...

Major flaw in this logic: assuming Wiggins has the drive of a player like Durant or the interest in playing defense regardless.

Not sure....but they had 3 so what's a 4th?

Surprised that this comment popped up; I had deleted that response yesterday before posting it. Weird data retention in the response field, lol.

We'll see won't we. Early returns are pretty encouraging and Steph and Klay aren't even back yet.

By the way I'm not suggesting Wiggins will ever be on Durant's level. But anyone who doesn't think he will improve is being a little silly. We've seen how it works before...with Durant

Durant was already a good defender; the offensive help just allowed him to expend more energy on the defensive end with the Warriors. Wiggins has been a net negative player up to this point in his career, and that can't all be placed on his former team. If you're implying maybe he won't be a net negative with the Warriors, sure. If you're implying he's going to become an all-star, pump your brakes.

He's no Durant. He's been a mediocre player most of his career who never helped his team win

It's funny, it seems as if all the talking heads on ESPN keep pointing to the Lakers' "struggles" against winning teams as a reason why they shouldn't be the favorite.

Here's the current top 12 records vs .500 or better teams:

Bucks 12-7 .631
Nuggets 15-9 .625
Lakers 15-10 .600
Celtics 13-9 .590
Clippers 14-11 .560
Rockets 14-11 .560
Heat 13-11 .542
Pacers 12-12 .500
Jazz 12-13 .480
Sixers 13-15 .464
Raptors 9-12 .429
Mavs 10-15 .400

Good indication of why Toronto is exceeding expectations so far: 31-3 vs sub-.500 teams. 34 of their 55 games to date.

He's actually been worse than league average, a very expensive JAG. Sad really, since he seems to have all the physical gifts, just doesn't seem to want it.

I guess there's that...

his label since he's been in the NBA is underachiever...

course, there's time for him to shake that label...

I love how you point out the Raptors. Your hate is obvious. You didnt point out that the way the Raptors have been playing despite the amount of injuries to their core players is astounding. You take the core off of any of those teams including yourlakers and see how well they would have played

Celtics have had more injuries than the Rap's... they've done alright on that list.

Just sayin'. :D

Oh really? To what players exactly? Core guys? Extended periods?

Siakam 11 games
Lowry 12 games
ibaka 11 games
Gasol 20 games
Powell 17 games
Van Vleet 10 games

That is our top 6 in our rotation thru 55 games and we have the 3rd best record in the NBA
