There is a huge drop off in playing Utah or Dallas as the 3 seed compared to playing whoever finish 7th and 8th in the West. Chasing a top 2 seed is worth it if you want a nice easy 1st round match up. This isn't one of those years where 6th-8th in the West are on the same level. There is a significant drop off after Utah.

Last year for example, only 2 games separated 5-8 and in 2018 only 1 game separated 4-8

Also worth it if the other LA team is #1 as WCF essentially a home series (at least when it comes to Lakers and fans at game)

If "in discussion" means top 10 sure....but not if it means legit chance to win (barring a number of injuries).

I agree. He doesn't have a legit chance to win IMO. To me it is a 2 or 3 man race (depending on where Houston finish). Looking like Bron, Giannis, and Harden

3/6 and 4/5 in the West will be fun 1st round match ups IMO.

With the reports of Lebron possibly missing time due to his groin injury, Lakers falling down to 3 doesn't seem like a stretch if his groin keeps bothering him

Believing this I think might be one of those examples of overrating your own player.

And I like Butler a lot.

I disagree to a point. Imo, MVP is about more than just numbers. His impact on the Heat is pretty undeniable.

Him being a favorite for MVP? No.

Him being in the convo? Sure. He's had a big impact on that team.

We're 30ish games in, so there's a long way to go and Jimmy can wear on folks. But as of now, I'd say he should be in the convo.

Of course, this early in the season, a lot of guys could be in that conversation that won't be when we're later in the season and likely at least a couple who will put themselves in the convo later that aren't in it now.

For sure. They said it on NFL network a few weeks ago. That is the way to beat the Ravens. Get up on them by 2 tds or so and force Lamar to beat you with his arm. They're not built to comeback from down 10-14 points.

don't know his relationship with that reporter (if they'd had issues), but no need for him to be a douche. could easily just say the first part of his answer and left it at that.

Will say only thing I've liked about Baker last couple weeks has been his pressers. Answers questions and been respectful to reporters (who are respectful to him).

As I said I don't think he gets the recognition he deserves. Belongs in the convo with Brady.....probably would be with BB as his coach. Payton OK, but not on his level.

Didn't do them any good Christmas day, or opening day.

Crowd can't help the Lakers guards be less washed, outside of Green.
