Are you ready for this? Only saying it once.

I watch a lot of NFL football. Have watched the Saints about 6 times this year. The stats show Brees has played at a high level. But I also watched him struggle mightily twice. Against the Rams and against the Falcons.

and when I watch Mahomes and Jackson, there are always “wow” moments that just don’t exist when I watch Brees. Brees is an exceptional QB good enough to lead his team to the super Bowl. But I don’t think he is as good as Mahomes or Jackson. Since there is a significant drop off, IMO, I don’t consider him on the same elite tier.

And like I said from the jump, you clearly have lower standards. Which is fine.

now STFU about Brees. It is irrelevant to any other NBA topic, yet you keep trying to bring it back.

And, no, my claims are not absurd at all. I am sure others (not everyone) would agree.
Agree Brees not a "wow" type player. Nor is that Brady fellow. Have you ever considered him elite? did you consider Brees elite before this season and you saw what LJ could do?

My "lower" standards, BTW, would have Brees elite as the 3rd best of 90 QBs. And AD elite even before 2017-18 as the 6-7th best player out of 450. And I'm also sure many would agree with me.

which of my comments will get the obligatory "I cannot refute what you said" facepalm?

This year, Mahomes and LJ are the two best QBs by a good bit, IMO. This year. Today.

Current year is all that matters.

and of course Brees and Brady have been elite. They just aren’t as good as the other 2 right now. So not elite. And Brady isn’t even close THIS YEAR.

sure is...like rebounding and getting more shots for your teammates for instance.

Never mind taking shots is a major part in factoring the top "option" on offense.

you do realize that Bam is a good offensive rebounder right?

And he might be a better defensive rebounder.

But do keep going. Keep talking up TT’s offensive rebounding when his role on offense was that they basically asked him to get out of the way.

Brady for sure is not.

Brees? Very debatable. But I get you needed to keep the number down to not contradict yourself on the AD topic and your high standards of elite.

Yep. Role on offense is set picks and rebound to get the team more shots. You get TT still gets more rebounds even with another elite rebounder on his team, right?

of course that is debatable.

Those are my standards. Best of the best.

There have been years in the NBA where there were only 2 or 3 elite players. There is no set number. Those that separate themselves from the other stars are the “elite”.

ummmm.

yeah. Ok dude.

Bam is averaging 10.6 rebounds a game

TT is averaging 10.0 rebounds a game.

no, TT is not “averaging more rebounds”.

Keep playing up TT’s role. He is used as a screener because he doesn’t have the skill to be a playmaker. Bam is used as a playmaker because he does have the skill.

I'd call those guys the elite of the elite. I mean, there have been times where Lebron (or MJ) separated from everyone, right? Only 1 elite player?

Can players play at the same level, but go from not elite to elite because others ahead of them got worse?

Brees is still best of the best, IMO. Done it for so many years and still doing it at an elite level. TB was a nice fill in and game manager against some mostly mediocre teams (KC played tougher games while he was out and went 1-1 without Mahomes). NO wins games BECAUSE of Brees like KC does with Mahomes.

My bad...haven't looked in a while. But doesn't erase the fact TT does play with another elite rebounder, while Miami's next best rebounder is 6-6.

And have never argued Bam is a far better playmaker than TT on offense.

Point is, I define the term with how it makes sense to me. I even said for the very top that it is clear I have a different definition of elite. Instead of accepting that, you have the audacity to call my valid definition “foolish” just because you don’t agree and want to include more players.

I draw the line where my eye test says it should go. And since Brees, IMO is closer to Wilson or Watson than the top 2, I don’t rank him elite this year. And that is my prerogative and I can back it up.

meanwhile, you have some legitimately foolish opinions of your own. And you put them on full exhibit right here.

Highlighted is a silly argument. Did Bosh ever play for a Heat

Heat was 1 game from ECF without Bosh, the year he was sick, so its pretty silly to even think they would have been worse if he had played.

The whole analogy is stupid since there were 0 seasons when a healthy Bosh played a season on the Heat without LeBron.

Might be true of Bam, kind of early on the rest.

Though I guess there are some teams who you could call them far better (not mine yet).

Team I'd rip might be GS. All the wasted picks and they let Nunn walk?

I see 0 reasons to think Herro and Nunn aren’t the real deal.

It’s actually crazy how Utah matches their court with all their jerseys.

The red/yellow/orange ones are atrocious. I don't care if they symbolize the national parks in Utah. They need to be burned.

speaking of players that used to be ok, Joe Ingles? what happened to THAT guy...?

Said he was overpaid and got ripped for it....LOL.

Avg 14 PPG this month.

Scored 26+ for the 2nd straight game

He's not overpaid at all. 13 mil yearly for a guy like him is about right. He more than lived up to the contract in his first 2 years of the deal. A bad month to start his 3rd year of the contract doesn't mean he was overpaid.

Players are allowed slow starts to the season. The NBA season isn't one month long.

No coincidence that Utah magically got better once they put Ingles back in the starting lineup

(This post isn't directed at you @ChiefsLakers67 )

3/6 and 4/5 in the West will be fun 1st round match ups IMO.

With the reports of Lebron possibly missing time due to his groin injury, Lakers falling down to 3 doesn't seem like a stretch if his groin keeps bothering him
