was more about the complaining or just being an ass...not specifically about not starting. stars don't get suspended in these situations much if at all.

Is Hassan Whiteside a star?

The hate on this board for Harden and Russ got me really rooting for the Rockets this year as much as I'm not a fan of the way Harden plays the game
I can see not liking their games, but they can both play and are alite.

I don't think its necessarily hate. It's just that both Russ and Harden are two of the biggest stat stuffers in the league and one of those guys will take a huge hit.

Westbrook averaged 91.2 touches per game last season, ranked #2
Harden averaged 87.2 ranked #4

Is either of them OK seeing that number drop off considerably?
A hit as in not a double double guy I can see for sure, but Westbrook was pretty good still with KD. Cannot really recall Harden playing with a guy like Westbrook since, ironically, he played with Westbrook....but he was not nearly the guy he is now.

But, sure, his number will come down.

I'm pretty certain Russ knew when being traded that his numbers will take a hit. You don't get traded to another team where they clearly have their #1 guy and expect your numbers to not take a hit. Russ can still stuff the stats.

I can easily see him avg something like 20, 10, and 7 APG

Harden #'s will remain the same.
I agree...though think RWs #s come down more than that....at least the rebounds.

I know we're not supposed to talk football here but @dtgold88 @WiggyRuss , Browns are in deep shit if they lose this week. I did not expect Baltimore to win yesterday.

Lose and you're 3 out at pretty much the halfway mark of the season

I actually disagree. I think rebounds will remain the same for the most part. I think PPG and assist will drop the most.

I like to follow the rules so put it in the other thread and I'll reply.

You'd have to ask Riles. Though seems that might prove my point, as couldn't it be argued he was your best player at the time.....I'm sure you made that argument, right?

I wouldn't say he was our best. I would go with Dragic. Highest paid? Yes but i don't think anyone would have him as a top 3 player on that roster if we're being honest

As mentioned in previous post, I didn't follow them enough...but he was for sure their best big, right, as Bam was not Bam yet.

But my point was never all middling players will be suspended. Was only stars wont.

And like I said, this was not a knock on the Heat. I've seen my own team be credited for sitting/cutting a mediocre or worse guy but knew if it was a stud nothing would have been done.

Yes. The obvious. It's obvious that the Rockets are pairing 2 of the most notorious stat chasers in history and hoping they can make it work.

Westbrook chase rebounds more than anything else. I don't see how that changes here lol.

If Russ get 15 shots per game (which he should still get), he can avg 20 PPG in his sleep when you take into account, how many times he should get to the ft line

Yeah, he averaged 91 touches per game just chasing rebounds.

And considering his 3 point and free throw shooting percentages, I'm not sure that he can average what you say with his touches dropping as much as you think.

So you think Westbrook is an idiot and doesn't know his touches are going to drop?

20 points really isn't hard to avg if you get about 15 shots per game once you can get to the line.

It basically requires you to make 6 shots and get to the line 6+ times roughly

Yes, I think Westbrook is an idiot. He has yet to show that he's learned a thing. If he had, KD may very well still be in OKC and he may have a title. If he had, PG is likely still in OKC.

It's no coincidence that both KD and PG left him. Harden left too. He wanted to be "the man" and knew he wasn't getting the touches in OKC that he needed to get there.

Not that easy when you shoot 5-15 from the field, and shoot sub 30% from 3 and in the 60% range from the line.

Westbrook has always been a volume scorer, so he's never shot a great percentage, but his percentages have gotten steadily worse.

Maybe he finally figures it out and maybe he and Harden can figure it out. If they can, it'll be scary. But you can't blame folks for being skeptical.
