2 ball-dominant guards...

1 rock...

believe that was the only thing we were saying...

And I said Harden touches will remain the same. Russ will drop a bit but a stat line like 20, 10 (reb), and 7 is still possible for him.

Hopefully he opts out this year instead now. No way is he playing after this suspension.

Will be a DNP-CD

I’d rather see Nunn get an opportunity.
Dion just doesn’t fit in this puzzle.

I don't think its necessarily hate. It's just that both Russ and Harden are two of the biggest stat stuffers in the league and one of those guys will take a huge hit.

Westbrook averaged 91.2 touches per game last season, ranked #2
Harden averaged 87.2 ranked #4

Is either of them OK seeing that number drop off considerably?
Great post.

Agree.

Cp3 didn't handle it well.

In fairness, can't blame Harden for being super selfish when everyone knew he couldn't count on Paul.

But, I have my doubts about this partnership working as well.

If Russ is allowed to launch 3's ad nauseum, Colin Cowerd might be on to something.

* Yeah, I don't see them missing the playoffs healthy. But, ya never know *

Time to see how bad the Thunder can suck. It’s been awhile.
You might be pleasantly surprised.

Well, depends on what you think the Thunder should have as a goal for the Season.

Player development and asset acquisition or fighting for the 8th seed.

If they keep Paul and Gallo for the year, 8th is possible.

I don't think they will.

Some contender will want Gallo at the deadline.

Cp3?

I can't see him moving unless he declines that option.

All this talk about Russ is kind of hilarious TBH because are we forgetting that before PG had his shoulder issue (which is forcing him to miss the start of this season), Russ took a back seat to PG and handed him the keys essentially? This was on a team that was HIS so I don't see why he won't do that know after being traded to another team where Harden is clearly the man

PG is a wing.

Russ was still able to do his thing.

When Harden brings the ball up and either ISOs or goes pick and roll, Russ will often be standing around. And he doesn’t have the skill set to be effective doing that.

I think he might post more than half of his scoring/assist averages during the stints where Harden is on the bench.

I don’t think there is a more ball needy player in the league than Russ, and I don’t think he will have it enough to produce when Harden is out there with him.

I could be wrong, but I just doubt this team is better than they were last year. For all the talk about CP’s fit with Harden, his skill set fits a lot better than Russ’.

I get what you're saying. The fit isnt great. I just dont think anything going to happen like Russ complaining to the media or him and Harden going at it with each other because Russ never been that guy. Some on here are making it seem like this about to be a shaq/kobe type of beef. I just don't see that ever happening even if the fit isnt great

I don’t think that will happen either.

They are a playoff team. Might even win a series. But I think Morey’s infatuation with stockpiling the biggest name possible is going to catch up with him.

I think Houston would have been better off running it back. They were very close to winning championships each of the past 2 years.

Projected W-L records, standings for every NBA team

Pelton's computer model. A few surprises.

Boston being No. 2 in the East certainly is unexpected. But it sounds like Pelton is hedging a bit and conceding that their lack of rim protectors may be a problem.

The Magic at No. 4 is also a surprise. Not sure if they enough firepower for that. The Rockets being the top team in the West is a mild surprise. The Spurs as the No. 11 team seems unlikely to me.

Rockets at #1 isn't a surprise for me. Harden wants this MVP sooo bad and he knows the only one they'll really consider him is if they finish top 2 in the West so yeah.

But I agree about the other 3 being surprises

Just looked at his projections. I agree with the 8 teams he have in the east but the order is screwed up. No way is Brooklyn finishing lower than Orlando and I would swap Boston and Philly.

I also think he is way too high on the Suns. That team finishing with more wins than the Spurs and Pelicans? I think not

I'm ok with his top 5 because i literally think it can go anyway with those 5 teams but IMO Portland is too low. Based on what I've seen from GSW in preseason, i think Portland finishes 6th with the Dubs at 7 or 8.

Once again this is a irrelevant question because Waiters is bitching about not starting. Butler is never going to be coming off the bench. And if the reports are true, that there was some type of altercation then yes every single player would be suspended.
No one on the level of Butler comes to mind getting suspended for issues in camp, on the bench , in the locker room, etc (as I said, my commented not directed at Miami, most teams suspend middling players but allow their stars to get away with similar or even worse incidents)....but it definitely happens to the Dion waiters of the world.

as mentioned, no one more of a cancer than Kyrie. Ever been suspended?

IF Butler was on the bench because the team has 5 starters better than him and he bitched about it, yes he probably would get suspended/fined.
was more about the complaining or just being an ass...not specifically about not starting. stars don't get suspended in these situations much if at all.
