I said a couple days ago when they were 12-2 there is a great chance we could see them 17-2, then they have a little tough stretch. We will see how they can handle 4 games in I think 6 days against very good teams. Fantastic start, never would have thought they would start like this

Yup.

Neither did I.

Undoubtedly things will get tougher for them in December.

But, that's why it's great that they've built up a little cushion.

Clippers, Denver, Dallas, Jazz and Rockets are all within 4 games.

Denver is only one back and the Joker is starting to lose his baby fat.

That 4 game cushion could be gone by Xmas.

I'm excited to see Luka vs Kawhi or Pg or Beverley or who the hell ever tonight.

I'm even more excited to see him live on Friday.

People are on crack if they have him ahead of LeBron for MVP.

But, he's top 3.

Yeah, we are less than 20 games in.

But, Bron, Giannis and Luka are killing it.

I was in the same camp of them not spending ...as much also they're proof positive how the luxury tax absolutely murders your depth eventually

If I recall correctly this discussion transpired with Klay already done.

Still likely a playoff team with the 3 above but their depth is horrific beyond them as we are seeing. Again because the tax completely saps the ability to sign solid depth guys who want more than minimum.


It's not like it's surprising a team that has logged this many games is having injury difficulties.

Yeah, that hard cap is a kick in the nuts.

They can't even sign injury replacements.

They have to trade D Lo or wait until after the new year to sign guys to 10 day deals.

I didn't think they'd be 3-0 on this road trip so far.

Same I figured they'd lose one, maybe even 2. But the 2 I thought they'd lose have already been played.

Agree with the rest, that's why I said it's been a solid schedule. The haven't exactly been feasting on the bottom feeders, but they haven't exactly been playing the Clips, Celtics, Sixers, Nugs...etc.

I heard on a podcast the other day that they had 16th or 17th hardest schedule. That's pretty much right in the middle of the pack. It also means there were over a dozen teams out there with an easier schedule.

Not complaining or trying to defend it, but the whole notion of "easy schedule" isn't completely accurate.

I'm not so sure. I think his position was that the Warriors would choose not to pay that much, so they would look to move someone. But instead, KD made their choice for them.

From what I recall, they were willing to pay whatever was necessary to keep the band together.

guess it all depends on your perspective. wasn't fun to see J0-11 embiid with that performance a day after carsons struggles (even though they were alleviated a bit the next day seeing how badly the receivers made him look on top of his own poor play).

So, it lends towards the theory that the Lakers will come back to the pack because the Rockets, Nuggets, Jazz, Celtics, Clippers, Bucks all have easier remaining schedules, unless I'm reading this wrong?
