So i was right.
I’d say so. I seem to recall Philly fans taking offense when I said Simmons was overrated and an anchor on the Sixer offense because he’s a point guard who can’t shoot or even hit free throws on a regular basis. So i was right.

He is 56% from the field this year so far and he only shoots in the paint. Think about that. 56% from the paint.
55% on free throws.
He's happy with being a top 25ish player. Has no plans to ever get better.
I blame the front office and coaching staff. You have to help players improve their game.
This is 4th year (if you include the season he missed) with the organization and he still afraid to attempt shots out of the paint?
Either way Philly will never reach the next level.Just a guess,
But I really think this falls on Brett Brown.
My bet is that Simmons won’t shoot jump shots because Brown has told him not to.
Either way Philly will never reach the next level.
Either they have an incompetent coaching staff actively harming the growth of their players or they have a $170 million dollar guard who is scared to shoot more than 6 feet away from the basket and takes up space from their super talented center.

Although I agree, but at the same time Simmons should be going out during the offseason (which he obviously failed to do) and develop an outside shot. It's not unheard of of players actually adding skills to their overall game. I've said it before in another thread. The Sixers already have a top 10 player in Embiid, but their success as a team depends on Simmons and right now it looks like they'll fall short of their goal again because Simmons is not stepping his game up to the next level.
Here's a hawt take...
Last year, through 13 games, the Clippers were 8-5.
This year, through 13 games, the Clippers are 8-5.
Last year, through 12 games the Lakers were 6-6.
This year, through 12 games, the Lakers are 10-2.
Clearly, the Clippers are no better than last year while the Lakers are much better.
Holy shit Paul George is ready to play, first 2 games back 70 points.
And even with the load management they are gonna win 55 games. The two best teams out West are clearly the LA teams, I hope that's the WCF matchupKawhi does not care about anything until he goes straight killer mode in May and June.

It's close for me but I think I'm rooting for the Lakers this year. I like LeBron and want to see him shut up the haters. Not that they will.
Lakers Celtics finals? Epic.
