Damn you just love tripling down on stupid.

He said they wouldn’t get out of the first round and that Butler would kill their chemistry.

Regardless of when they eventually lose, assuming they do, he was mind numbingly wrong.

Did he say it was going to be in a mickey mouse bubble tho where nobody has home court anymore? I doubt it

He also said they would benefit from being in the bubble...So looks like he was right

You should probably just stop talking. It’s hard to seem dumber than you already are...but you are making it happen

No home court advantage should still favor the better teams. The teams who didn't perform well showed their ass in the bubble as it proved they depend a lot on fans to win games

He was.

Not by enough to cost Bledsoe plus the 4.

The problem is that this scenario has the Suns paying Bledsoe and pick for for Kyrie, while all Indiana gets for PG is the pick and filler.

Kyrie’s trade value was probably comparable to PG at that time. Both all stars. Both essentially asking to be traded. PG 1 year left vs Kyrie’s 2, PG viewed as the more complete player between the 2.

Maybe that extra year makes Kyrie slightly more valuable than PG, but not by that much. It is just a poorly balanced trade clearly favoring Cleveland at the expense of both of the other teams.
agree with your comment about why Indiana might not do it....but Suns not doing it because they, like you, figured Kyrie not much better than Bledsoe was not part of their thinking IMO. are you forgetting Phoenix gets Kyrie in the deal when you say "at the expense of BOTH teams"?

To be fair, many Heat fans were not so sure they'd get out of the first round. I'd say where he was most wrong was the idea Butler was not a great pickup.

Not really. It's a huge benefit for older players (Lebron) no travel, more time off and teams with a lot of veteran presence as their main stars and role players. It's a dissadvantage for young teams and teams that worked hard for the higher seeds to have homecourt. That is likely why Wigger said the heat got an advantage from playing in the bubble but were only 5th in the East prior to the bubble

That's the way I see it. End of the day, better and more talented is still better and more talented no matter where the game is being played or how many people it's being played in front of.

Younger players are more likely to be effected by the crowd, but that goes both ways. They may be energized by the home crowd, but they often disappear on the road.

The veteran players are used to adversity and they have less travel to deal with. So they should be able to rest more.

I think the biggest difference may be in how teams handled the time off. We've heard of teams being tired late in games while others haven't been. That seems to indicate that some guys decided to stay in shape while others had "staycations".

Nah, there are too many distractions, including players that did not even show up to the bubble. Factor in some teams went all out for homecourt and may have got tired out well others didn't and were rewarded. The more talented team typically wins over a long series any year, its not like football where 1 game decides the series.

Nah, there are too many distractions, including players that did not even show up to the bubble.

Those players aren't a distraction. The Lakers, for example, are missing one of the better perimeter defenders in the game, which was supposed to really hurt them. Yet, they're one game from a 3rd straight "gentleman's sweep" and going to the finals.

Factor in some teams went all out for homecourt and may have got tired out well others didn't and were rewarded.

Who, besides the Bucks and possibly Lakers, "went all out for homecourt"? Certainly not the Clippers.

Also, that was what? 4 or 5 months ago? They've had more time off to rest than they normally have in a regular off-season. So they not only should have been plenty well rested, they had time injuries to heal.

When they came back, the only ones who "went all out" for anything were the bottom seeded teams who were trying to get into or stay in the playoffs. For the top 6 or 7 teams in each conference, it was more about getting some run in and getting to the playoffs as healthy as possible.

The more talented team typically wins over a long series any year, its not like football where 1 game decides the series.

Which is pretty much exactly what I said. The better and more talented team is still better and more talented.

No man.

I am saying that while Kyrie was definitely better, even a lot better, Bledsoe back in 2017 was a highly valuable asset.

Bledsoe + 4 for Kyrie was an overpay for 2 years of Kyrie.

Especially when that 4 pick along with salary filler was supposed to be enough to get Paul George.

The Heat got an advantage of not having to deal with home court. That is obvious.

Your assertion about the bubble favoring older players just isn’t true. They don’t have travel, but they actually get less time off. They play every other day without those extra travel days.

Look at the teams remaining. Aside from LeBron, It is the younger teams that are thriving. Heat, Celtics, Nuggets.

Mavericks and Thunder pushed their first round opponents further than expected. The vet teams like Utah, LAC, Houston, Milwaukee etc. all had to pack their bags relatively early.
